RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Ranting about my math teacher.

UGH.

MY MATH TEACHER IS SUCH A STUCK-UP DRAGON CUNT.

I'm gonna get MAULED tomorrow because I couldn't be arsed doing homework. but really, this math teacher is a complete BITCH.

Some ass told her about the time I left my remote control in the fridge (If I ever find out who I will Personally make sure they are either castrated, fired or generally screwed) and she told the WHOLE CLASS. Used it against me. She's so manipulative! She gives out detentions to people for stupid reasons like not owning a ruler! AND HER LESSONS ARE SO FUCKING BORING. ALPHBETICAL ORDER., AND MY LEFT HAND SIDE SEATS AN ASSHOLE.

Worse, it's first period so no chance of being able to copy someone else >>>>>;;;;;;;

What can I do to make her feel like an ass without getting more detention.

Whoa, it was never my intention to brag
but I got him where I want him now...

Thankyou for your suggestions!

It's pretty difficult to know what to think.

Actually, I have a math teacher that's starting to get on my nerves right now.

I was told before taking the class that she's very authoritarian - and I don't have a problem with that . . . What I have a problem with is her dogmatic approach to school and how she seems to relish in giving people bad grades - as if she gets some sort of sick pleasure in giving people "what they deserve". There are a lot of teachers that understand that school is not our lives and that we have our own interests - that's no excuse to turn in stuff late - but this teacher hates hearing about anything that doesn't have to do with her class or subject.

I remember once she yelled at me outside the classroom and my response seemed to utterly confuse her. I had done badly on a recent test and she had told me that if I don't pass her class, then I could fail the grade. I didn't get upset, I didn't start tripping up and making excuses or getting angry, and I didn't cower away with my tail between my legs like some kind of puppy dog. I just kept smiling and remained kind and easy going. I could tell that pissed her off badly - she almost WANTED to see me look upset.

P.S. imaginary numbers aren't that hard, unless you get into uber complex equations using them. Such as when you're using the quadratic equation.. Uhoh

That's actually a really easy question; i just stands for the square root of negative one, and it's used to create imaginary numbers.

I wouldn't make it so obvious that you're trying to make her look stupid; that makes you look like someone who's trying to look like he knows more than he does. Tell me what general topic you're supposedly studying now, and I'll come up with a hard question related to that topic that you can ask her as she's going over a problem.

Try this

You tell her " Mrs.<whatever her name is> i heard that you were giving out detentions for stupid reasons" and tell her more that she does thats stupid and she'll think over what she's done and maybe change her own actions
