RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

God damn

I've had it with school.
I've kept my hatred quiet now for the past few months, but today, they crossed the line.
They accuse me of vandalizing the cafeteria, when there were witnesses that could testify that I was innocent. I was given the task of cleaning everything up, but guess what? They FUCKING GIVE ME A TIME LIMIT. If I could not clean everything up in the given amount of time, I would receive detention(s).

I did not complete it on time.
Guess who has some detentions to go to? Yeah.

I am absolutely fucking pissed out of my mind. I need a successful way to protest, like, for real. With walkouts and such. However, I only have a few other people that are willing to go along with it. Counting me, that's only five people. I need to know: how do I convince people to go along with my protest?

Say Martin Luther King, Jr's (I think it was him) speech titled "I have a dream", but edit it appropriately so it applies to school children. If this seems random, I just got out of english class and we are studying this.

I should think, the easiest act of defiance would be not showing up for your detentions.

Tell them that you will not attend unless you are physically forced to do so, on the grounds that you are innocent.

It's important to not falter on the innocence thing.

If they call your bluff, well i believe that's criminal.

Heck, you could start a lawsuit.

Do your parents believe you're innocent? If not, get those witnesses to tell your parents what they saw, then get your parents to bitch at the school. And don't go to the detentions.

Lol my principal was walking around the classes telling us about a new program the school was gonna put in place. If you skip a detention, you get an after school detention for 2 hours. I proceeded to ask what happened if we skipped THAT, and he didn't have a reply LOL.

Anyways, it is not illegal to put him into detention without reason or make him do (minimal) "labor." I highly doubt a lawsuit would be plausible. And really, would you want to dish out the cash to file a case?

when i said call the bluff i was referring to using physical force

idk, maybe they can use physical force to detain children without parental permission. Then the school system is even further gone then i realized . Salute Shrug

I believe they can only grab your wrists and drag you that way. However, there is to be no 'sexual implication'

Solution: Masturbate with your hands crossed.

If I seem rude to you, please call me on it gently.
