RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

As usual Rebelnerd comes in and puts it on the table.

Well, now those just got a bunch worse because you scared the hell out of idiots.
Thing is these school shootings are not about protesting.
These people don't give a shit about standing up to preach some cause that people won't really care about and if they do its more out of self righteousness.

All they want is revenge.
Obviously it's not a protest, I'm not sure kids are all that keen on martyrdom.
I didn't quite have another way to put it.
Anything that ever happened or will... one condition, it has to be amazing.
I gave her wings but she don't wanna fly no more.

Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay

Rebelnerd Wrote:Columbine was a tragedy because innocent people died, just like all school shootings. I won't celebrate it and if I ever found evidence that it would happen again, I'd try to stop it. But there have been victims, both students and teachers alike, who deserved what they got. We'll do what we can to prevent the massacres that killed them but we don't feel sorry for them and we certainly won't mourn them. If you're going to offer the view of "the other side" like your signature says, you need to try and understand our side.
Well, I'm talking about having those Columbine shooters in an avatar and talking about killing teachers. That's like asking me to understand why I should stick needles in my eyes. I really like how you explain anarchism though.
If you want to be a different fish, you've got to jump out of the school.

Usually kids who start these shootings just want revenge, like HeartofShadows wrote. They don't give a shit about "protesting the system"; they've just been fucked with for so long and happen to have easy access to guns that they broke down and shot anything moving in their way.
when you suffer for too long , you don't think about your actions when you break down , it really is school's fault about having this kind of system where kids all do the same shit. kids are scary these days , I'm actually afraid of people my age. you really don't know what they will do :>_>:
From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them and that is eternity.
im the most annoying poop you will ever see. my name will be on every forum > im indestructible muahahahhah . be annoyed by my presence

I'm not in the least bit. It's rare that this sort of shit happens, and being scared of people isn't going to solve anything. I usually talk to the kids who everyone accuses of being "future school shooters" and most of them are pretty cool, a bit quirky, but still not crazed killers...
You guys seem to have it all wrong with Harris and Klebold.
They weren't 'taking revenge' or 'protesting'.
No, they were batshit insane and there's mountains of evidence indicating that. They were completely and totally psychotic, and give video game enthusiasts, anti-schoolers and gun enthusiasts bad names.
Harris probably was a psychopath. But I think Klebold's case was a little different; he wasn't quite mentally ill, just angry. I think. Obviously there's no way to know for sure now that their brains are blotches of red goo.
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins. The quickest way to kill a revolution is to wait for it.
AWOL Wrote:No, I doubt he was a psychopath. If he was a psychopath he wouldn't have done a big, public shooting.
Well, I think the theory is that neither of them would have done it unless they'd met. Harris provided the focus and the discipline, and Klebold's anger at the world served as a kind of stimulant for both of them.

Quite so, but a psychopath wouldn't do something public, they'd get revenge in a manner that would've allowed them to get away with it. I think you're searching for psychotic.
I meant whatever conditions causes lack of empathy. Sociopath, maybe.

Sociopath is just an outdated term for psychopath. One of the traits of a psychopath is a lack of empathy, but it also carries with it the compulsion to manipulate the shit out of others to get what you want, rather than use brute force. They very rarely do anything direct, and nothing to that scale.
Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris were heroes, they were slaves who decided enough was enough and finally took action. Even though they died, they were willing to fight for what they wanted.
I'm pretty sure if they weren't stuck in a public school with all the other assholes they wouldn't have done what they'd done.

Yeah, I doubt they would of. That doesn't make them heroes though. What did they accomplish? All they did was kill a bunch of people. It didn't do anything but get cameras put in every school in the U.S.

I dont think thats what they had in mind, with the camera's. And they were trying to get rid of their oppressors, much like black plotting to kill their slave-master

Even if you do consider school shootings to be a rebellion, all that does is make them war criminals instead of regular criminals. Purposefully killing civilians and all that.

AWOL Wrote:Quick question, who are the three most famous school shooters!?
Done? Sweet.
Your answers were Harris, Klebold and Cho.
All three of them had a history of random crime and/or mental conditions.
These people were not 'warriors', they were crazy people.
Then they were crazy heroes then. Its happened before.
