RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

On a less serious note BABY

BABY THINK IT OVER PLAN

Basically, I have a plastic baby that weighs 7-8 pounds. It has sensors that can detect
1. If it's being fed
2. If the diaper just got changed
3. If it's being rough handled
4. If the sensor on my arm is next to it
5. It it's being rocked
6. If it's being burped
7. If it's head is back

It'll need to be rocked/fed/changing diapers/burped during the course of the 1 night I will have it.

I also have a car seat, a change of clothes, and a blanket to help me with this baby.

If I don't get to it in 2 minutes of it starting to cry, then I'll have a neglect, which means -points

It will wake me up in the middle of the night. I'm the only one who can care for it, since I have a sensor on my arm.

I also have to write down every time it cries.

I would smash it against a wall and bring the crumbling remains to class.

A sensor, huh? Suspicious Never mind the fact that you probably don't get very much sleep anyways since school makes its inmates students get up at an unholy hour and it'll wake you up in the middle of the night? Man, just fall asleep in class and when they get pissed and start yelling, say that the baby woke you up so you couldn't get any sleep.

Go to work. Send your kids to school. Follow fashion. Act normal. Walk on the pavement. Watch TV. Save for your old age. Obey the law. Repeat after me: "I am free."

So your school automatically assumes everyone is going to be a teen parent or something?

It doesn't help at all if you get pregnant before you have to take care of a baby. If that was the case they might as well not give a shit.

I see people at my school carrying them around all the time. I lol at them and then proceed to shake the baby until they get an F.

Who am I? Who are YOU?

Re: On a less serious note BABY

I remember those. One of the football players took his doll and body slammed it into a wooden table WWE style, then kicked it across the football field. You could hear the health teacher scream out "What the fuck did you do!?" though out the school, when it came time to download all the data. Funny as hell.

Also, this;

Quote:If I don't get to it in 2 minutes of it starting to cry, then I'll have a neglect, which means -points

is bullshit. Babies can cry for no reason if they want to. My niece will fight fatigue if she doesn't want to take a nap, to the point where the only thing my sister can do is put her in a crib and close the door. That kid will scream for 10 minutes before she finally gives in.

Sometimes it will "Just be fussy" Which means you have to get to it and rock it, but you just wait for it to subside. It didn't happen for me.

Our Teen Living Teacher is a nice person so we act pretty cool about it.
