RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Bully stories

Or just general schoolyard assholes.

In 10th or 11th grade (can't remember), for about a week and a half, I had this random asshole who would spend his time during the two classes he had with me trying to make me angry. I'm difficult to piss off, and I was moreso back then, so figure out how much failure he ran into. Anyway, on a Friday I think, he not only failed to get me riled up, but was caught and reprimanded by the teacher. I got a kick out of that.

Between lunch period and 6th hour that same day, I'm heading up the stairs to my next class, milling over what I was going to do when I got home. Now, we have two flights of stairs, and they's big. Tile like our floors, and the ends are wrapped in steel or hard alluminum, I could never figure out which. At the top of the stairs is the asshole, and he looks mad. Probably because he couldn't take his failure coupled with an instructor catching him in the act. He takes a wild swing at me as I close in on the top of the stairs. I duck, make the last step to the second floor and kick out his ankles from under him.

Asshole goes tumbling down the stairs and eats shit spectacularly at the midway point (set of stairs, then turn, there's the other set, basically). He stops moving. I walk down to verify I didn't just kill his ass and nudge him onto his back. He's bleeding from the nose, and it's a bit crooked, so clearly he broke his nose upon landing. I offer to help him up, and like a prideful douche, he refutes my offer and wobbily pulls himself to his feet, holding his nose as he retreated back to the first floor and presumably to the nurse's office.

Never got shit from him again. Infact, he transferred out of the classes he was in with me.

I'll never forget that. Ever.

So, what stories of lol or pwn with bullies and dickheads in school does SS have?

Re: Bully stories

That was glorious, Leon. Here's my story that helped shaped who I am today as well:

I was bullied (nay, tormented) for the first two years at primary. I was only a small, innocent child who couldn't wait to go to school. The bully was a fat bogan and he looked like a semi-mongoloid who, throughout the two years, pushed me around, stepped on my fingers, choked me with hat laces etc. He was very violent. I mean I'm surprised I didn't die.

I did what the teachers said, "Tell him to stop, but don't fight back". I always told the teachers. My friends would give me support but there was a point where I was afraid to go out to recess because I felt so scared (keep in my mind I was 5-7 years old). I also stayed home heaps to avoid confrontations.

My parents had countless interviews with the principal and teachers, and the school said they contacted the bully's family (who had 19 or so kids, all retarded and will never be of worth to anyone). But it just kept on happening.
Two years and I guess I stopped giving a shit. I did everything the teachers asked and it stopped nothing.

So one day, instead of hiding during recess, I wanted to play down-ball. The bully found me and started rushing at me smiling. I fucking rushed back and he grabbed me and we both fell on the floor. Being light and agile and in a state of adrenaline, I got up fast and started pounding the fucks face in with my foot.

I don't know how long this went on for, but by the end of it he was purple and red. I got in trouble for some reason. And yeah.

Re: Bully stories

Michael was large and inadequate....he had many diverse and valuable hobbies, such as track, football and tormenting kids that were smaller than him. It's middle school and having bored bullies is a disaster waiting to happen. Michael liked disaster, especially since he was never the one picking up the pieces. Along comes Vatman, quite, unlikeable, he played chess or something....the perfect target.

Michael approached the young buck with a friendly sort of air, asking why he never said anything...wondering why he was such a loser. Vatman didn't find him all that interesting, took out a book and ignored him. Michael could not believe for a moment that he did not have someones attention, after all he deserved it...Didn't he?

For the next few months Michael would push Vatman around, take his books and notebooks and textbooks. But Vatman never seemed remotely upset. In fact he never even acknowledged him. And no matter how many times he would rip Vatman's book bag off his shoulders and empty the content out on the floor or more desirably mud...He did not get a response. And he needed it, oh baby he would get it if it were the last thing he did.

Michael was at his limit. He was going to kick that kids ass and make him notice his existence. He cornered him after-school with three good buddies and took pleasure kicking the crap out of him. But Vatman didn't fight back, nor did he seem as if he cared. He lay there crying bruised and bloodied. And Michael gave up on him.

Time moved on and for some reason, every girl Michael ever ended up dating left him within a week for someone else. And everytime he copy pasted a paper offline, he would be caught. Eventually in high school he was kicked off the high school football team for poor grades. Later on, a girl whom he had dated for three months just left him without a single word. It was as if someone was sabotaging him. He would take tests and get caught with cheatsheets he didn't know he had. The papers that he did right seemed to appear online with someone else's name before he would hand it in. Eventually he dropped out of high school...and for some reason, his bosses keep telling him that they were phoned in complaints about him. Michael just continues to wish he had better luck.

And Vatman had nothing to do with it. Also he totally didn't sleep with Michael's little sister.

Holy shit, all of my money. But seriously, you could write a goddamn book with that sort of creativity in tormenting your, well... Tormentors. Is his little sister hot?

Thanks. Funny thing is I never try. Ever. If I end up doing something awesome, I don't know it till someone tells me "Holy balls, that was righteous!" As for your bully story, god damn. That must've been gratifying when you finished.

Athankya, sir.

I did forget to mention a particular detail in my OP: Back in high school, I always, always wore boots. Coupled with being able to run like motherfuck, if I kicked you with my boots on, you were going to feel it. The convenience of being at the top of the stairs made it that much more effective.

I'm trying to remember more bully-related stories from my past. One comes to mind, and it has been retold to me every so often by my mother, so I've yet to forget. Details are limited, though.

Back in my very young years in elementary, probably somewhere between kindergarten and second grade (my memory don't work so well that far back), apparently there was this asshole kid picking on a girl. Being the upstanding gentlekid I was, I positioned myself between the two and told him to stop. He slugs me. I take it and repeat myself. Slugs me again. Repeat again, and last warning, though obviously I as a child didn't say 'last warning mofugger'. He takes another swing, and the next thing I know, I'm on top of him beating the everliving shit out of his face.

Important fact to remember when visualizing this: At that age, I was small. I didn't get height on my side till probably after third grade, so till then, I was a munchkin amongst kids. He was clearly bigger than me. But damn, did I wreck his week.

I did end up getting pulled off, parents called in, and they defended me. No trouble came of it. I so wish I remembered the scene vividly.

Re: Bully stories

I was barely bullied back in my old schools. Mostly because I never talked to anyone and generally hated every single person who went there. But there was this one time in home ec, we had this utter douchebag in our group. He constantly picked on me for disagreeing with him to the point where I just ended up slapping the shit out of that bastard. He didn't pick on me after that.
