To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

We have to write an essay on what we want to be "when we grow up", and why it will contribute to society. That's not the bad part.
The bad part is we need to have at least three sources, none from Wikipedia (my school hates Wikipedia with a passion), and one must be from a newspaper or magazine.

After two hours of searching, I only found one decent source. I can't find anything else. And your grade is automatically lowered 10 points if your bibliography isn't "complete".

My school also hates Wikipedia with a passion, it's banned and we can't even go on it. Which isn't fair. I'd bet anything that Wikipedia is more accuarate then half the other sites around, even if it can be edited by other people. It's also a great place to start a search. Anything that makes our life easier HAS to be done away with, anyone notice that? I noticed a lot of useful sites seemed to be banned from going on..

While English Class is usually one of my favourite and best classes, I dislike having to do assignments like that. Right now, I have a HORRIBLE business assignment to do, all about business writing, having to write memos, resume, cover letters, complaint letters, request letters, letters to the editor and so on. A huge booklet due Monday. We had time in class but I never got much done. It bored me half to death. I can't wait until we read Of Mice and Men for our next novel study. I like Novel studies. Except all the damn questions..

I love writing persuasive and interpretive essays, but I can't fucking stand having to do a research paper. Research papers are the least creative, pieces of shit things to do in English class, IMHO.
Goddamnit, and I hate how the teacher makes a big deal out of the "works cited" paper. I don't see what the hell is wrong with just writing down the name of the website I got the info from. I have to write all types of shit like the date it was published, the sponsor of the site, the title of the site, the date I got the info from the site, etc. *sighs* Noo

HMmmmmmmmmmmm Scratchchin what would i contribute to society, that depends. Oh yeah NOTHING. Also i have to write those all the time, and its all bullshit. I just lie so i dont fail the assignment.

What exactly do you need a source for? There are lots of resources online other than wikipedia...
