I am failing college because of atendence "rule"

I am a student in CSI (College of Staten Island) a deadbeat 4 year CUNY college. The first semester is alright. Then the second semester, I failed...well, not eactly a massive failing. But because I cut two days of class. I have learned that this college have this attendance rule (active just recently) where if you are absence for three days, then you get a a grade of WU (failing).

I knew that rule, my high school have that rule too and I don't have much of a problem because I live near it and was always on time. But who could have though that it's actually two days for me. Because I am taking a double class, so cutting two days of it means I failed. Can you imagine that? It's not about how good you do in it or how much works you do. If you absence for two days (for very good reasons) Then you are suddenly a failure and no amount of works that you do can make it up. How stupid is that? I wanted to ask, is it just my college that have that rule, or how about your college? Is all state college turning into a prison camp, I though college would be alot easier on attendance record and it seems I was wrong about that.

Holy crap, that's just stupid. The college I was at had a rule that you had to attend at least 40% of the time to pass... even that was a bit lame since I could have gotten by in most classes without actually going there. Except the times when they sneaked another subject in while I was skipping the other subject, and then I got a zero on my report card and was all like "huh, wtf? I never had that subject..." ... that kinda sucked.




Anyways, can't you like... complain to someone? Or do they have some kind of exceptions where you can be "excused" from attending or something...
Though with a rule like that, it doesn't sound like they have enough sense for just about anything.

Yeah it is, now my mom is going I failed the class. Whe I have to get up 2 hours earlier evereyday and transfer 3 bus to get there. God forbiddens some trffic and I ended up late. 2 lates equal 1 cut in my class. So after I had my 4th late. When I came into the class, this fat woman "professor" came up to me and ask me to go outside because she have something to tell me. Outside, she says she can't take me anymore because I was late 2 times and abcess for 1 day. and what pissed me off is that I got a A and a B+ on her class, but now I am a failure because of this minor BS.

You can only be excused for one day in my college and with doctor's notes too. Even then, you are still in a thin line between passing and failing. Any amount more than that means that you are a failure and you either get a WU or you have to drop the class. You know what's funny is the last dead line of dropping class. I have to wait in line for 1 and a half hour because the line is so long.
