RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

WALL.E

Yes I went to see the most retarded movie ever with my sister, we just sat thinking omg, is this over. It was the only film on with Polish subs so it sounded a good idea.

But WTF! if it was supposed to be brainwashing kids telling them not to throw stuff away then it did a bad job as it didn't suggest recycling once. But it told them, ok your parents are ruining the world by throwing stuff away, you're all going to get fat because you will run away to space and never lift a finger because of all the robots. But it's not your fault. So long as the robots fall in love the world will be saved.

IT WAS SHIT!

COMMUNISM is when you have two cows, the governement takes both and gives you the milk
SOCIALISM is when you have two cows and give one to your neighbour.
NEW DEALISM (is when things go wrong) is when you have two cows, the government takes both, shoots one and milks the other but then throws the milk away.
CAPITALISM is when you have two cows and then sell one to buy a bull.
FACISM is when you have two cows, the government takes both and sells you the milk.
NAZISM is when you have two cows, the government takes both and shoots you.

I typed: "end of the world" into google and saw the hiroshima bombing and 9/11, irony much.

Right. Because a movie about talking toys could never succeed. Nor bugs. And a movie about fish wouldn't be a hit either.

Um, no. Disney is brilliant.

I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.

Re: WALL.E

IMO, Disney has produced some brilliant and not so brilliant movies. But they did used to be a company with a very good reputation because of the films they used to produce. Disney is almost a household name by now. The reason I say not so brilliant is because of this new wave of PC "must protect the children, there is no violence in children's fairy tales" morons which have caused Disney to bow down and suck their collective cocks.

Re: WALL.E

haven't seen it, heard it was awesome. i must say though, pixar has a pretty impressive track record so i have good expectations. they're owned by disney, but somehow their movies don't feel like disney. it's like the pixar people are still allowed some creative freedom now and then.

I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.

Re: WALL.E

Disney Classics are win. Mulan in '98 was the end of their winning streak. I'm talking about animated films only here. There have been a few since then, namely Emperor's New Groove, that have been a hit, but other than those, that's pretty much when Disney started sucking.

In my opinion. I grew up on The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Great Mouse Detective, and The Lion King. Plus the other classics.

Pixar's fresh though. Disney's lucky to have them.

And the brilliant thing about it is, I'm talking about films that go way back before Lion King. Was Lion King great? Well... personally I didn't enjoy it as much as other people. It was quite good but I find it hard to like that film to the point of ecstacy or whatever. But some of the older films... my god. If you want lessons in how to make movies, watch those.

they peaked with Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and Mulan. i don't see what all the hype is over snow white, cinderella, etc. they didn't seem that good to me. maybe its just because i'm a guy, i dunno.

No, School of Rock is Paramount Pictures. However, it's not that good of a film. Razz

I mean, it's a good comedy, but not exactly an all time classic or whatever.

oh, ok, thanks. it is not a good film in my opinion either, but most people think it is, so mum wrote it down (she sometimes alters posts on threat of going to live with dad) i generally alter them back though.

the version of robin hood with the furries is the best Disney film.

For friendship, for love, for an ideal
And people kill for the same reasons.
