RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Revenge

Paradise Cove, 1996. It was a living hell. I was sent there on two counts of vandalism and on one count of trespassing.
Paradise Cove, a secluded behavior modification camp on a small island..
I was placed in Peace Family. A family was actually a group of inmates, lead by one elder inmate.
"This is Chris. He's going to be in your family," shouted a counselor, as he walked me to my family. "Now get back to work."
I was unsure of the rules that day, and I ended the day in a straight jacket in a dark, wet room. I was to spend five days in there, just because I had dared to go to the bathroom without having a counselor watch me.

Over a year would pass, and it would be too horrible to describe. Finally, one day, another kid from my family would let me in on a little secret they had going on.
"We're going to revolt," said Mike, a tough-looking inmate who was sent there on a count of attempted murder. "The entire camp. I'm going to teach you how to make some weapons and how to defend yourself in preparation for the revolt. If you fuckin' tell any authorities about the plan... you're dead. Got that?"
I nodded with acknowledgement.
The plan was to shut off the power at 8 PM on a certain night. After that, we would revolt. Kill every counselor there, then make a run for it. Some would escape alone, others would escape in groups. We were to make weapons out of anything we could - toothbrushes, pebbles, even our clothing. Do you know how to make a tattoo gun out of an electric shaver? I do. A toothbrush into a shank? I do.
I learned karate from Mike and some other friends I had made at the camp. I started lifting weights, and soon, I was stronger and tougher than I thought I could ever be. Soon, I started making my own weapons. My choice of weaponary was a sock full of pebbles, a sharpened stick, and a few toothbrush-knives. I couldn't wait for the day we would get revenge.

Finally, the night came. The power went off. I don't know how the people from Opportunity Family did it, but they did. We went insane.
As I recall, I had stabbed our family leader in the neck as Jeremy (another inmate) clubbed him over the head with a blunt object. We hog-tied him and let him bleed to death. He was dead within 15 minutes. Me and three other people ran out of the cell we were confined to. We heard people screaming and shouts for support in the background. It was full-blown warfare. We were about to make a run out the door when two counselors came out of nowhere. They were equipped with tasers. If people from Discovery Family weren't there to take them out for us, we'd be dead.
They came up behind the bastards and strangled them. As soon as they hit the ground, one stole a taser and started shocking them. We were told to run, as they would take care of the rest.
We made our way outside, but being on an island, we didn't know where to go. Luckily, there were lifeboats outside of the prison in case of emergency. We got in them, and we were on our way off that hellhole. We looked back and saw a counselor rush out, his hand on his stomach, slowly bleeding. He fell to the ground and died after being stoned to death.

We started laughing, and discussing what we would do after we made our way back to the mainland.
"Fucking bastards." muttered Mike.
"Every single one of them deserves to die," I replied. "This world can't tolerate such horrible crimes."
We made our way back to a small town in Florida. We then seperated, deciding it would be best.

80% of the counselors died. Not a single inmate died.

Re: Revenge

nice, but would they really send a kid to behavior mod camp for attempted murder? that sounds like more of a "real jail" thing.

I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.
The quickest way to kill a revolution is to wait for it.

I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.

Jeremy is another inmate who helped the main character kill the family leader.

My bad. I failed.

I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.
