Does I loves my country?

There's many parts to that question, which include, "Do you love your culture?" "Do you love your community?" "Do you love your government?," etc.

Right now I don't. But this year I have two classes, AP US History and Pre AP English. My Pre AP English teacher especially, on the first day of school, discussed "What makes Americans unique?" and "What makes our culture special?" My first response was, "We're generally an ignorant, lazy population. We hate ourselves and others, we're some of the only people in the world that hates our government. And the only ones that hate it but is too lazy to change it." Generally points like that, also, our lack thereof culture.

But maybe this year, after I study prominent American writers and poets, and see some of the people that seem to define our mainstream culture, "James Dean, The Beatles, Kurt Cobain," etc, and study the history of my country, I might gain an appreciation for what is truly, and uniquely, American.

Then again, I might hate us more.... for that massacres, ignorance, and genocidal behavior we seem to display. But hey! Guess we'll see.

Umm....yeah, like 70% of the people here (or maybe even more).

You're implying that it's not true if you're rich....but it wouldn't be true in any country, not just America.

While I don't exactly love the fact that we are where we are today due to large amounts of massacre and genocide, I do really want to change this country for the better.

And to anyone who says "If you don't like it, get out", I'll just say that it's not -your- country, it's -ours-, and I plan to stop people like you from ruining it.

All cultures are unique. It has nothing to do with being better then one another.
They're equal in terms of which 'is better,' but they're still comparatively unique.
