RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

Ok, I get it. Thanks for not taking my reply in the wrong way.

But I have to say this:

Quote:That's why it's important to enjoy it as much as possible while you can... Smile

That's only your view on it, not everyone else's. Like the people considering suicide right at this moment. They don't care about the enjoyable things in life. Some people don't even HAVE enjoyment and that's why they don't care and would rather not live.

My non-belief in God. I love when someone responds saying "You're going to hell."

i got a comment like that the other day, i just told tem that they were coming down with me. the look on their faces was hilarious.

It would probably also be worth it to add that I think think that black history month should be eliminated.

I second the motion.
Either that or we should have a white history month too, it's only fair.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

I think that it would be better to just eliminate black history month. Because if there was a white history month, it probably wouldn't be long until there was an outcry for a Jewish history month, Muslim history month, Asian history month, etc.

Muslim is regligious affiliation. You mean Arab History Month.

Lol.

I agree. Let's have more interesting History months, like Doughnut History Month.

I third that.

And if we did have a white history month, it probably wouldn't be long enough. We'd need at least a century. And on top of that, they'd think we were racist if we had white history month. But face it, we've accomplished way more than blacks, not to be racist. Just saying.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

Lol, "we".
That's a bad way to think, you know that? Then you start to get into "us versus them" and crap. It gets bad, you have wars that stem from that mentality.

I'm not "white", I'm a human being. Human beings who have white skin color statistically may have produced more technologies than people with other physical distinct characteristics. That's all. There is no "we".
Cosmopolitanism wins.

Pro Polygamy: If man has 300 wives and is able to support 300 wives who are we to judge?

Men are generally better than women: I open their doors, give them way, change their flat tyres because im superior and they need my help.

Anti Women voting: Why should they have a say?

Anti Women in positions of authority: Women make great VICE presidents, secretaries, home makers.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

One of my most controversial opinions is that we are born with a right to complete freedom.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to, and for doing something you felt was right, the consequence for it is always unjust.

Dont follow any laws/rules/just natural common sense.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

Rules != Moral Conscience

Learn the difference. Morals don't come from a failrule-book.

I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

I never said that.
I'm just say there will always be people who have blatant disregard for any kind of decency. We have to have rules to keep those people(murderers, thieves, etc) off the streets once they have been proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Wrong, there doesn't have to be anything. And there isn't if you really think about it. Rules aren't stopping murderers from killing people, now are they?

It's the people who are in charge of enforcing the rules who stop murderers. which of course begs the million-dollar question: what if they're the ones doing the murdering?

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

Murderers have been stopped, yes.

I think the public should keep a better eye on government and make a much stricter Constitution in order to keep them from being murderers.

No, I just don't care about it. Let them do whatever they want. There's no point in wanting or not wanting because there will always be murderers as long as there are people.

Nice one.
What if they are psycotic and do it again? And again? And again? But you could put him in jail and nobody would be dead! Oh, there will always be murderers...
You see, we all deserve freedom to do what we like as long as it doesn't obstruct another person's right to do so(destroy their property), but if you do something as bad as murder you break that trust and do not deserve those rights.
