To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Hello...hehe *is new*
Aloha! I'm Amanda/Mandy and I go to a Catholic Private School. I always have (I'm a sophomore now) and really never minded it much until the end of eight grade when I woke up and realized that not only was something terribly wrong with the world, my family, my religion, my life, but my school as well which brings me to this wonderful site.
My parents (and the rest of my family) are extremely conservative catholic folks who, of course, do not accept any of my new beliefs or practices or really...anything that I say that does not suit them. They were against me leaving my catholic faith. They were against me researching and persuing subjects that make me sad or make me dislike the way they tell me to live. And now they are against me even suggesting another form of education rather than the supposedly "excellent and supremely amazing" one I'm getting now.
I'm currently trying to convince them to allow me to go to an online school so if anyone has any suggestions on that please let me know hehehe  .
About me: I like to write and ramble...alot... I like to pursue forms of self-education such as doing my own research on things and not just accepting what people tell me as true. I'm very unrelatable to everyone at my school; *who loves it by the way* I'm not sure how relatable I'll be to people here, but it's worth a shot! I like researching conspiracies, Harry Potter, spending time with my online friends, dancing, graphic design, and being myself.

i like spending time with my online friends too (sometimes more so than with my irl ones) and love harry potter also.

If it's a state online school, and it's free, tell them it's just a regular school, only you don't have to physically GO anywhere. Tell them it requires social interaction over the internet if they're scared you'll turn into a hermit or something. It's basically the same as regular school, only you can go at whatever speed suits you best. Nobody holding you back because the teacher is going over the same stuff for the hundredth time, even though you already get it. Or whatever. EDIT: I just reread your post. If it's a conservative Catholic private school, they probably won't want you anywhere near a state school. (O NOES! INFIDELS ABOUND!) 
So yeah, that may be a bit more difficult.

Hehe thank you I use it on every site I can, but sometimes it's taken. Do you ever wonder what the people who've taken your desired username are like? For example, If I go onto a site and invisibella is taken and make another username, I end up never seeing anything from that user anywhere.... Maybe they're just trying to piss people off.
Yeah, it is a state school. They just think that I'm getting the almighty education selected for me by God himself right now. *Le sigh* So even normal looks drabby to them. They're impossible, I swear. I'm writing a super-long (not that everything I write isn't super long already...) letter to them about it.

Ah yes, definitely books over films!
Well, I just spoke to my parents about sending me to online school... it ended pretty much with me sobbing wishing I was dead and them saying "the point of school is not learning, it's getting a good job."

i adore that song!! i tend to blast it really loudly into the living room to piss mum off when she is being a pain in the arse and letting james get away with murder.
that tends to be the constant excuse used to justify school, what should matter more is your happiness, not whatever job you get in the future.

I love that song too! And ah, do I know about that (siblings getting away with murder). I love observing how I do so little wrong in the breaking-the-rules area, yet get the most punishment...
I wish my dad thought that my happiness was more important than the job I get. Apparently a great job = happiness... Of course I won't get a job until much later so as for now...
