To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

To be honest, I don't care what Spacey and Strat think on this matter; I'll certainly miss seeing Scooby's face around. See you, not-quite-buddy.
I agree that the forums have changed in the short time I have been here (in comparison to other vets like Zero) but they're still a great place to be when you need a pickup, when school's getting you down.

We were just discussing the amount of intelligence on this forum; Even if you disliked Scooby, I don't think making comments like that is a good thing. If you can't say anything constructive, can't you just not post, I swear to God. It's like being sat right back in Year Seven when people cheered when I left. You're just as bad as the bullies in a way, driving good people out of places they feel welcome, feel at home.
We've had a lot of problems recently, I agree. but I won't give up on these forums.

kk. Time to clear shit up.
The concept of "elites" is stupid. I'm a human, just like everyone else. This forum is meant for everyone, it's just that now it's populated by people I don't find challenging anymore. The purpose has shifted to a place of venting instead of a place of debating. And I just don't want that. You can go ahead, but I'm just moving on to places where I feel I can get more done.
And Jesus Tapdancing Christ, the forum isn't dying. I was stupid to think so a while ago. It's just changing, from what I once knew and loved, to something that I don't like, out of personal preference. The forum is changing, I'll say that much. So I'm following standard protocol when one of my homes changes to something I don't like. Pack up, move out, find something else.
And also, I hate drama. SS isn't falling, and I highly doubt it will for a LONG time. I just don't like how everything has changed. Like I said, it went from somewhat constructive anti-school activity to more of a venting and social forum.

As of the last few months he has been a royal troll to the site, forcing memes into nearly every topic he posted in and managed to piss close to three quarters of the site off.
