RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

What PMS can do to people...

It's been a huge time since I last wrote any rants, so here I am, getting out of my usual stalker attitude (I read more than write on this site Razz), and ranting about the everlasting things that annoy me.

Here we go.

Okay, so: yesterday we were supposed to bring some pictures of us for a passcard or something, and most of us didn't know about it. So our head-teacher came, and spent the whole class, plus a hefty 20 minutes, screaming, shouting, spilling out pure hatred, and throwing books and stuff on the table. Just because we didn't bring some damn pictures that we could've given later. No.

See, our problems with this bitch go a looong way back. Last year she was just our literature teacher, but now since the last head-teacher decided to skeddadle, guess who got in charge?

Hell. I mean, the old one was loads better, although she skipped more classes than we did. This one, nooo, she's much different. Much, much, muuuuch more authoritative. And power abusive. Let me give an example.

[two weeks ago, thursday, the same usual anger] WHEN I TELL YOU TO LICK THE FLOOR, GOD DAMNIT, YOU WILL LICK IT, BECAUSE THE RULES SAY THAT I'M THE HEAD TEACHER AND THAT YOUR OBLIGATIONS ARE TO DO EXACTLY LIKE THE TEACHERS TELL YOU!!!

No. I am not kidding. Not in the least. She is so fucking frustrated/frustrating. It's like she has PMS, or has a huge lack of cock. And yesterday she picked out every one of us, and ranted individually. When she got to me:

YOUR PARENTS DID NOT COME TO THE SCHOOL MEETING, AND DIDN'T CALL ME AFTERWARDS TO ASK ME ABOUT YOU nEITHER!!!! YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK OF THIS? I THINK YOU HAVE NO RESPECT, NEITHER YOU OR YOUR PARENTS, FOR ME!!!

I could write a twenty-page essay on this. But I'll just end it here. Someone, please, be humane and send her a dildo or something. She needs it more than she needs water. She says that any time we don't do something she wants, and I'm not talking about big responsibilities, but smaller ones, that we have no respect for her and keeps shouting over and over and over... I dunno how people can live with such frustration, or why they'd want to stress people out like that.

Let go of all desire for the common good, and the good becomes common as grass.

Re: What PMS can do to people...

Hug She's a bitch, and I feel sorry for you.

However, there is no reason to think her obnoxiousness is caused by PMS. As a woman, I'm sick and tired of men chalking every disagreement up to "PMS". I'll start with some facts about PMS itself:
  • Not all women have PMS. While most women of child-bearing age (about 80 percent) have some Premenstrual symptoms, women with PMS have symptoms of "sufficient severity to interfere with some aspects of life". Just because someone is a woman doesn't mean they'll be a bitch.
  • PMS is not a full time thing. Symptoms regularly during the two weeks prior to menses. The symptoms may vanish after the menstrual flow starts, but may continue even after the flow has begun. If someone is a full time bitch, she's a bitch. No need to use PMS as a scape goat.[/list:u]

Way too often, PMS is used as a general scape goat for any conflicts males have with females. That's just dumb. Your head teacher is a bitch, and there's no need to blame PMS. It's less common than it is commonly thought.

Don't take life so seriously, it isn't permanent.

What she said.

Seriously. PMS can be a bitch, but it sounds like your headteacher just needs a pencil case rammed up her arse.

Oh, I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention. I used "PMS" as a joke. Biggrin
Sorry if I offended any girl or smth. But if she doesn't have PMS while doing stuff like that, I'm scared of what she'll be like when she does >_>

Re: What PMS can do to people...

oh dear lord. well, if the teacher ever yells at you again, talk back to her, ask her ow she's going. Be really nice to her, and ocmpeltely confuse her

How are things at home?

Are you sure?

if oyu need anyone to talk to, you can always talk to me?

or, alternatively, you could tell her where to go and how to get there.
