RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Alright, lets start with Israel. Whats wrong with them to you?

Also, when you say you hate my countires policys, it reminds me alot of when other countries criticise us and than ask for help for something (money, food, diaster, war (France for example,) and were nice enough to give aid.

Gobinu, Iraq was a stupid place to enter. GET OVER IT! Unless you can invent a time machine and stop the war, we have to stay in Iraq for atleast a couple more years to help heal the mess we created. And yea, I agrre that invading Iran would be a bad idea.

Never. My first thought was "Fuck you", but that would be rude... If they will invade Iran you will say the same thing? You need another countries? It is all about stoping them from doing more harm. And no, you should leave Iraq NOW cause you are constantly making more damage than good. We have to say no while we can.

Tls321 Wrote:Alright, lets start with Israel. Whats wrong with them to you?
As you wish, first I am gonna quote UN resolutions.
Israel killing hundreds of people in Syria and Lebanon in air raids.
Israel attacking Lebanese civilians.
11 Muslims shot at a shrine in Jerusalem by an Israeli soldier.
Israel sky-jacking a Libyan airliner.
Israel abideing the Geneva Conventions in its treatment of the Palestinians.

Hidden stuff:
Quote:[...]We all have a general idea of what a war crime is, so I am not going to elaborate upon that term here. But there are different degrees of heinousness for war crimes. In particular are the more serious war crimes denominated "grave breaches" of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Since the start of the Al Aqsa Intifada, the world has seen those inflicted every day by Israel against the Palestinian People living in occupied Palestine: e.g., willful killing of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli army and Israel's illegal paramilitary settlers. These Israeli "grave breaches" of the Fourth Geneva Convention mandate universal prosecution for their perpetrators, whether military or civilian, as well as prosecution for their commanders, whether military or civilian, including Israel's political leaders.[...]

Hidden stuff:
Quote:[...]But I want to focus for a moment on Israel's "crime against humanity" against the Palestinian People -- as determined by the U.N. Human Rights Commission itself, set up pursuant to the requirements of the United Nations Charter. What is a "crime against humanity"? This concept goes all the way back to the Nuremberg Charter of 1945 for the trial of the major Nazi war criminals. And in the Nuremberg Charter of 1945, drafted by the United States Government, there was created and inserted a new type of international crime specifically intended to deal with the Nazi persecution of the Jewish People.

The paradigmatic example of a "crime against humanity" is what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jewish People. This is where the concept of crime against humanity came from. And this is what the U.N. Human Rights Commission determined that Israel is currently doing to the Palestinian People: Crimes against humanity. Legally, just like what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jews.[...]

There were more but you get the basic idea. Moving on.

I could recall reading about Israel haveing Nuclear weapon and there we go.

I searched more and it seems it is nothing specialy unknown. But they are your palls after all...
Here is a site about Israels crimes, it wasn't hard to find (=google).
Just click "children", "Lebanon", "Civilians" those without legs are my favourite.

Maybe let's talk about USA government backing up the so called "terrorists", shall we? Later on I am gonna post some, now I am kinda busy.

By the way nice site I am checking now:

Re: It seams to me....

Ok how about the numerous attacks on innocent Israelis? The fact that Southern Israel has to build bomb shleters, the war-tactis of the Jihad in which they use woman and children as shields, the refusal of most peace treaties, the fact that all wars against Israel by the Arabs were intigated by the Arabs. Just to name a few. Israel has every right that a nation has to defend itself.

Re: It seams to me....

Ok I've been pretty busy with my new camra and stuff so I didn't answer ya, sry.
First of all argumentation like "but he started it", "he did it as well" is in MY opion failed.
Quote:war-tactis of the Jihad in which they use woman and children as shields
First of all Israel is attacking almost only civilians, secondly... sec, apparently one of my sites about Israels war crimes has been shut. Oh, well. Gonna go with Amnesty International (my translation):
Amnesty International claims that destroing lebanese houses and basic infrastructure was a part of Israels plan. Acording to AI, destruction of a civiil objects weren't only side effects of the operation. As we read further 7000 air raids and 2500 attacks from the sea were concentrated at occupied by civilians territory. Vast majority on lebanese side were not Freedom Fighters but as UNICEF says around 1/3 of 1200 killed were children.
"The biggest differance between Hezbollah and Israels attacs is scale of operations"
-Donatella Rovera, the head of a team preparing this raport.
In other word Israel does the very same thing Hezbolah does, but on a bigger scale. Hezbollah attacks were not as terrifying because of lack in equipment. What else do we have here... :
Quote:the refusal of most peace treaties, the fact that all wars against Israel by the Arabs were intigated by the Arabs.
Yeah... can you recall what kind of treaties were that? In 2002 Hussien Agah (working at Oxford) and Robert Malley (adviser in Clintons administration) came up with a way to settle the conflict by devidint the territory along the interrnational boarder. And guess who was blocking, yes blocking, not arguing with, but blocking it? Bingo, USA.
And we cannot continue this conversation if the best you can do is "But arabs did..." etc. without even giving examples. I have some gaps when it comes to this topic, so i am checking this in books, internet. HAve you ever tried it, huh? Backing up your words? Or you never took a closer look at what TV tells ya?
Maybe gonna add somehing more but by simply googling you can learn more.
Ahh I am taking my info from Noam Chomskys books, and all kind of raports but I am writing which, when quoting.

Re: It seams to me....

I would consider myself beyond the border of American liberalism. I am in favor things like taxing churches that attempt to wield political power, taking away the non-profit status of these churches that tell their members how to vote. I'm also in favor of socialized medicine, and a steady push to abolish fossil fuels altogether and replace them with renewable energy. I'm essentially a socialist, not afraid to use the word although it has been largely given negative connotations by the American propaganda machine.

Re: It seams to me....

Making the switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy should have nothing to do with political lines. No politicion, democrat or republican, liberal or conservative, communist or libertarian or whatever, can magically make more crude oil appear underground. It still amazes me that people are denying this fact because of politics.

I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.
