RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Left 4 Dead

I hate advertising main stream games...but its a pretty ridiculous shooter.

Some cupid kills with arrows, some with traps.

One callec Trapped (I think!) where you set traps for people like falling chandeliers, arrows firing out of walls, etc. to kill them. One of the bonuses is when you suck someone into a giant msuci boxc and they're ground out through all the cogs. Extremely graphic.

I like flying around in Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat and blowing everything to hell in a chopper or bomber plane. Either that or GTA San Andreas with the superhero mod that lets you fly and blow things up just by looking at them funny. Great fun.

Call of Duty 5 (also known as Call of Duty: World at War for fags who aren't true fans of the series).

Also, I would suggest not playing Gears of War 2 or Left 4 Dead. Based on my studies, they turn you into bigoted assholes.

For FO3: Get the Bloody Mess perk at lvl 6 for added fun. It's a useless perk for gameplay but cool to watch.

Why not Counter-Strike? And in the mean time, make a map that is based from your school. (No kidding).

Didn't a kid get in huge trouble for that and even had his bedroom searched his house for guns because he did this?

Well, yes. But there's nothing wrong if you do not disseminate the maep to the point where it reaches the White House.

Any of the Halo series was good. Any call of duty game is good. Quake is fun, Counter Strike. Half Life 1 and 2. Team fortress 2. Grand theft Auto is good.

Re: game recommendations

I realize this has already been resolved but since you asked for good shooters I thought I'd comment. I would recommend many of the shooters for the MAME emulator. Specifically titles like "Progear", "Gwuange","Donpachi", "Dodonpachi", "ESP Ra.De." basically anything from Cave. I've enjoyed most of thier stuff that I've played.

I fucking love Morrowind. Best race: Breton; can't beat 50% magic resistance. And all your skills can get to 100 anyway so it doesn't matter if mine is a warrior that uses almost no magic. Just a little restoration to keep his ass alive.
