To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I was in the scouts for a good deal of time. Some of the stuff is fucking sick fun, like helping build paintball fortifications, then getting the rest of the day to play paintball. Or building shit in the trees at summer camp. But it isnt all good. It gets fucking boring somtimes.
Whilst some work diligently there are those who ask why. I am one of them

No, actually it good thing. No sane (or insane) atheist would want to be part of their gay-bashing club anyway.
Remember the three G's they don't allow: Girl, Gay, Godless
They believe that someone "can't grow into the best person they can be without moral obligation to God." And believe atheist or agnostic leaders are a bad influence.
Also, I thought of something that would be fun to do but require work. Join scouts, get the eagle scout award, then announce atheism. I would love to see the looks on people's faces even though I'm not an atheist. It would just be so much fun to see them go "OMGGGG HE DON'T BELIEVEZ IN GODZ!!!! EXORCISE HIM NOWZZZZZ!!!!"

We got to play disc golf once and everyone except me and some friends left when it started to rain, but it stopped in about 10 minutes so we went on to play our own version of the game.
Rules like: First to hit that squirrel wins(not actually a rule but I did hit one on accident[sorry squirrel]) We knocked branches off of trees(fun until a leader caught us) and generally just had fun with those discs. Man I want to do it gain.

Yes they do. There's even God in the oath, and their regulations clearly exclude atheists and agnostics from participating. It is however possible, that certain local chapters might be more liberal and ignore the spiritual part of scouting - I'm not saying there aren't. But the Boy Scouts of America has policies against agnostics, atheists, and homosexuals. And yes, they have been sued, and their right to have these policies has been upheld in court.
Don't take life so seriously, it isn't permanent.

And Alucard, I was too, and my dad is a leader in scouts. He's even told me they don't allow atheists or gays. They are allowed to do it, though.

Actually, the scouts do have a tradition of kicking people out for being gay. I suppose there are always exceptions, but I think most people would only be too happy to kick them out for that...
