To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

School Flyers

Hey guys. I'm sorta new to this site. I've come up with this idea and I'd like to share it with you. I'm gonna post flyers all around my school in England with a quote from George Bernard Shaw that I found on this site.

I would give you guys a picture of the flyer I made but I don't know how to post pictures in topics, so if someone knows how and wants to see the flyer can you tell me how to do that? cheers.

I'd be pretty interested in the fliers, so the guide on posting pictures is here.

well if you have a mac just use command+control+shift+4 to take a screen shot of it

Just upload it as a word document. Every time you post a comment, below the text box there's some check boxes, and then the "preview", "submit", "save", and "cancel" button. Below that there's a form for your attachment. Upload it using that, before hitting the "submit" button.

Heres my flyer, its not that artistic or whatever but i just wanna make a point. any suggestions, please comment. I'm gonna dd "www.school-survival.net" at the bottom somewhere aswell.

The flyer is not bad. It is simple and to the point. But perhaps once you put this one up, the next set of flyers should be more complex, and maybe even contain a link to this site.
I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.

Having a picture is good. Pictures attract eyeball attention. What I would do to that flyer is make the quote a tiny bit smaller, and then add some more info to it. A website URL to further info would be nice too. Smile

I think it'd work good enough, Here's a picture of how it came out on my computer, (the school's computer actualy), I don't know if you're using the same version of word though, so hopeful this looks about the same as the origional Smile

Make sure you use the schools paper instead of wasting your own, paper is money after all. (and money is paper too...)

I don't know about this. I remember trying something like this in 7th grade, and this is how I got caught.

We're allowed to use the printers and photocopiers for any purpose, but we're charged for it... so I'd be contributing to the school instead of stealing from it.

Hey guys. I just sent these flyers all around the school today. It was awesome! There is this newsletter thing near the reception of my school, and I shoved a load of them in there and then I went to random hallways putting it up on walls and handing it out to people.

I also gave a teacher one of them. Biggrin
