To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

What the fuck is this shit
My dad saw a guy die right before him today. And guess where? Of all places, a fucking Bally fitness center. My dad's on a treadmill, and the guy next to him starts having a heart attack. And guess what the fuck everyone else (about two dozen other people in the room) do to help? Nothing. Absolutely fucking nothing. Sure, some stare at him for a bit, but nobody does something. My dad does, however. He gets on his phone, dials 911, and orders an ambulance to get to the area. Too bad the ambulance can't come - they need specific fucking directions. You can't tell them, "The Bally fitness center on [something street] and [something street]." The people on the emergency help line need a specific fucking address to help someone who's having a FUCKING HEART ATTACK. What the fuck is wrong with everyone? Someone's having a heart attack, you call for an ambulance, but they don't come because you don't know the EXACT FUCKING ADDRESS? And what the fuck's wrong with the other two dozen people in the area? They do fucking nothing! They act like nothing's wrong! What the fuck has America turned in to?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. An ambulance eventually came, but it was too late. It came 20 minutes too late.

Not one person in the whole goddamn place knew CPR?

They send us to school for more than 12 years, and don't bother to teach us life saving manuvers. Yet, our performance at doing fricken mathematical formulas can determine our future. Your Dad did the right thing in calling 911. I can't believe that nobody tried to save his life.

Horrible... just, horrible.
That's a very good thought, actually. School teaches much, but does it teach useful things like saving a life? Perhaps briefly but not really. It's more about procedure than about learning.

Someone needs to complain to the relevant authorities about something like this... They should even be able to trace your call so you don't even have to say anything, just say, "Fuck, this guys having a heart attack, ambulance pl0x." and they'd be on the way.
