To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Cheap, Effective Way to Publicize

So, my Mom and Dad were talking about my Dad's job, and they happened to mention buisness cards. At first, I was like, "Meh" but they kept talking, until my Dad mentioned that you could get a couple hundred of them for under $10.00. Then, the wheels in my head started turning.

They're small, easy to get made, usually sturdy, fit in a pocket, can be used as a bookmark, and can easily fit all of the information needed to get someone to your website. Furthurmore, they're out of place in the school enviornment, so people would be curious if they saw them laying on the floor, and they look professional, despite their cheapness, so people would take them seriously.

So, for $7.00 (plus shipping and handling), you can have anywhere from 250 - 500 buisness cards, and get busy distributing them around the school. You don't need to put a lot of information on there, maybe just the name of a website and what it's for, or something like that. You can also add a design, and such, if you have one.

This is actually not a bad idea.

Although I think that posters and flyers are more effective these are cheap and easier for distribution. They're so cheap you can just leave them lying around in public areas , libraries etc

This sounds like a good idea for people in other schools. But if you hand things like that out in school time, you can be sure they will be littering the school drive by hometime.

Even if they're thrown out, or left for the janitors to clean up, they put the idea out there. If you have a simple or catchy web address, I can just abou guarantee you'll get some hits, even if it looks like nobody took one.

I'd do that, except for two problems. A) Have no idea how I would actually get them. No drivers license, no credit card. B) It would probably require making a blog or something, which I'm too lazy to do. Everyone at my school would write off SS right away, they need to start smaller.
