To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

New light blue SS forum theme

It's called SS 2.0 light blue.
It's too bright for me... so I won't be using it.
But should I make it the default? I've been told on numerous occasions that some people apparently find dark backgrounds with red "too scary" or something crazy like that.

It should be default, and you should make Light Paper the default theme the main site, because Dark Paper makes us look like delinquents.
Also, a Light Paper-equivalent on the fourm would be nice.

Hrm. It's hard on the eyes IMO. Personally I'll stick with the red and black theme but I'm on the fence about this becoming the default.

Hmm.. I like it, but i personally won't be using it. Can't decide if i think it should be the default or not.

I agree with this completely.
But on the other hand, it might make sense to have it look less scary in case someone's parents find it... or someone actually wants to show them a discussion. So in that case, it makes sense for the default to be white and ugly, and people can still use the black theme if they want.
But yeah, I'm gonna just go find a nice-looking blue theme based on the default template, and use that and just replace the logo. I can't be arsed to try and make one, and this isn't working. xD

I have downloaded a crapton of other ones, but still need to test them out... don't want to add like +200 themes that people need to sift through... only the best will become the new default.
Should probably make a plugin to add custom links in a navbar that works on all the themes... meh.

I'd say just use it. Maybe we should have some kind of notebook theme. That makes sense for the site and is a lot less hostile.

I think I might use this for the day and the older one for the night. I don't really like bright themes when I'm up late nor do I really have a taste for darkness during the day.

If only I could do that with the main page(I use incognito so it never saves, and I don't feel like taking the time to make it save in other ways)

I don't know about scary, but I did like the dark theme because it kind of reflected my dark attitude about school. I also LOVE this new theme and it's way more positive for a site like this. Just my 2 cents

I swapped it to the old theme, I just am used to it and prefer it. Besides the new one is a bit to bright and plain for me.
Pretty Much my only signature...I'm mainly a lurker....you can find me on the IRC (or on DnE and their IRC).
