To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Too straight forward, obvious and morally acceptable.
I'll add on if you don't mind Derchin.
Make the thousands who die kids who we all have to talk too and get to know before we make the decision.
Even then still a bit boring.

There is no cure
We tag the infected and let them live. And then in the final month we collect all the infected and seperate them from the rest and they live their lives as test subjects in high security labs.

Immortal as in unable to die from aging, right?
You never said they were superhuman or anything. They're just normal humans who have the urge to kill and can't die naturally. So it wouldn't be hard to contain them.
Otherwise, we kill them the moment before the infection is at it's peak.

I'd just leave 'em alone and try to prevent both from killing as many as possible. Killing should be a last resort, in this case it doesn't sound like it is.

I would still support the A bomb over a ground invasion. Sure they were civilians but the ones at the center of it died immediately, and while there are all the burns, rad poisonings, broken body parts and other things to consider with those that didn't die in the initial attack. I think in the grand scheme of things more lives were saved that way and less pain was experienced over all. I'm not sure how much you know about WWII pacific fighting but it was some of the worse shit ever. On par with the trench warfare of WWI. Makes Vietnam look like a summer vacation.
Many people also think the early use of it also helped prevent the cold war from materializing into anything other than a mexican standoff.

The atomic bombs could have easily been dropped on military bases. Limiting the unnecessary killing of unarmed civilians. It would have been a show of, "stop now or we fuck your shit up." If Japan refused to back down after that, then I would accept a civilian city bombing.
The world is overpopulated in poor countries mainly. Generally because of ignorance.

I just don't agree with killing innocent civilians/attacking civilized areas because a war is going on between one country (i.e. government) and another. Ideally, that kind of stuff would stay between the political and otherwise parties involved. Realistically though, that'll never happen, since the public is treated as cattle owned over/pawn.
I agree that poor countries are overpopulated, considering general lack of resource (e.g. nutrition) available for their survival and such.
