To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Killjoy, I was taking you seriously for the first couple of pages. I mean, you were annoying, it was frustrating having to listen to your 'kids can't take care of themselves, school is the BEST and ONLY way because it's approved by the government, etc.etc.blablabla whatever' stance.
But really, I thought you were serious, that you had some good arguements, and I was glad to see you handling things well.

But then...
then it got out of control.
Now your posts are simply overexaggerations of things we've said. You use said overexaggerations to tell us that we are complete fucking idiots, and for all of your supposed maturity, you still end up using sarcastic idiotic devices to prove your 'point'.

Which, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems your point is:
"Schools are a privilege to children. They help them learn what they need, they teach them life skills, and prepare them for healthy life in society. only schools, not parents, not outside tutors, not life experiences, and DEFINITELY not the children themselves, can teach them this.
You are all conspiracy-theorists who need to realize that school is trying to help you."

My point would be:
Compulsory schools started out as a wonderful way to make sure every child, no matter how poor or rich or whatever, had a chance to get an education, a degree, and then become successful. It was a good idea.
However, nowadays, school has become a tedious rite that supposedly all children must go through. It takes up most of their focus, and most of their life. eight hours of each weekday are spent there.
The only thing I have wrong with this is WHY should my life be all about a mission I didn't choose for myself? Who decided that I should dedicate twelve years to this place? Is my personal well being worth a piece of paper saying, 'congrats, you jumped through our hoops for 12 years and are now somehow ready for life'?
I can work hard, anyone can, when they want to do something.
i've taught myself guitar, piano, how to draw, how to create art, even a little physics, and if I needed help doing any of those things I'd ask. I'd seek out resources. But I don't need it forced down my throat.
I don't need 2 hours of homework every night to learn.
I don't need to ask permission to relieve myself to learn to obey the law.
I don't need to respect teachers who don't respect me or any other students.

Stop acting like we're idiots who don't appreciate what school does for us.
School used to be for the good of the students.
School used to work for the student, but now the student is supposed to be working for the better of the school.
That's BS. I will not accept that. And that is my choice as a human being. An adult wouldn't be threatened by law for quitting his job. But a student is threatened by law if he doesn't go to school.
I have nothing more to say, I am not going to waste my focus on this issue any longer.
That's my stance, and as for you, you have become a troll.
Nothing but.
I have examined my beliefs, and they have stayed the same as they were before I ever read your posts.
You aren't brainwashed, you know fully what it is you're saying.
Just don't call us brainwashed, because we know what we're saying too.

Carla Franklin may be a whore. She may be a wonderful, kind, moral woman. Seeing as I don't know her personally, I cannot know for sure. However, I find her actions (suing Google, requesting the personal info of her critics, getting angry over random internet idiocy that she should ignore and be bigger than, trying to get this site in trouble because of a few users' commentary on the situation, etc.) pretty ridiculous and unwarranted. If she didn't want people to to be talking about/judging her, well 1. that's impossible, she's a human, and 2. she shouldn't have been a model or agreed to be on film. AND 3. she DEFINITELY shouldn't have sued Google and made all this fuss over a few random idiots whom she probably won't ever know expressing their opinion. Mmkay? MMKAY.
