Can a degree be nullified?

Hi everyone, I'm posting this from my 3DS. If anyone cares why I haven't been active, it's all on my profile.

So today, out of the blue, I wondered if someone had a GED, high school diploma, a college degree or anything of the sort could be annuled, nullified, revoked, or voided by someone who wants to hold a status that they don't have it and never did go through getting one in the first place? A good example would be marriage annulment and possibly voidable marriage.

Lastly, on a more off-topic note, why has SS been so quiet the last few weeks lately?

Yeah you can rip up your document then burn down the institution that holds record of it.

Otherwise its like a permanent thing unless you obtained your degree in some illegitimate fashion, like cheating.

Yeah, is it possible to do this permanently without having obtained it in any illegitimate fashion?

Doubtful. They dont call a transcript a "permanent" record for nothing.

Yes, it is possible for somebody to get a degree revoked. John Walsh, for example, got his degree revoked for accounts of plagiarism. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/10/...sh-degree/

First looking into Google about this, I found out about that. Now I'm wondering if I can request this. I guess brainiac answered my question, but I feel like I need to know more.

Well it'd be odd to say "Hey I plagiarized so please revoke my degree" but I'm sure they'd look into it before actually taking action. If they fail to find anything they'd probably deny to revoke. Odd that you have so limited control over your own educational records but I'm sure somewhere in some contract you've pretty much signed it away(or at least consented to it by doing something, like applying for graduation when you've met the requirements of your major).

They're sneaky ya know.

I don't have to go through what happened to me almost 2 years ago for the 10 millionth time, but I wanna do this mainly for SS and ACS. I was forced by the system, and my own parents, to either get the GED or face judicial punishment. Now, I wanna prove that you don't need some stupid degree to be successful. I don't have any transcript for my GED and never have, but if there is any "records" of me with it I'd like to nullify it myself.

My most recent argument with my mom is also driving me to want to do this. I remembered she mentioned something about, "Well at least you have something" in the terms for "better" securing a job. Lol, and I argued that you can be a dropout. Jobs don't care about degrees--let alone something as trivial as a GED or equivalent--they care about experience.Plus, it's not like I've had dozens of jobs. I've had my first job for 2 to 3 weeks now.

Well the experience equivalent of a degree is pretty much the same amount of time it takes to get the degree. Jobs that ask for a masters degree offer alternative if you have six-eight years of experience, which is pretty much how long it'd take to get a bachelors and then a masters(and maybe a bit of experience along the way).

To companies, experience and degrees are both the same from different paths. Course someone with a degree AND experience often has the upperhand.
