To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Hey

Not really sure what to say. I'm in 10th grade (male) and I go to one of the worst possible schools. Out in the hillbilly sticks of Tennessee, every kid with their stupid accent and words they say that don't even exist. I lived in Florida most my life but moved here my freshman year. It's sucked. The only way you can get through the school is if you have a well-known last name in this little town, otherwise you're a piece of trash that's tossed off to the side. They don't allow anything. Wanna take your phone out at lunch or listen to music during your own time? "NO SCREW YOU!" They walk around just waiting for that moment that you take an electronic device out so they can take it from you and give you detentions. Need help with your work? "Oh man sorry, just so busy with all this nothing. Maybe if you were an agriculture kid or an athlete, oh well.." I have so much to vent about and lots of stories.. but yeah, any questions just ask.

Seriously? That school sounds like hell. A rural school like that must suck. My school thankfully isn't rural because I live in the Houston area of Texas. It seems to me like your school is family oriented and not geared toward outsiders. But why won't they help you with your work? Is it because you're not part of the "family"? How do they cut you off from the society? If so then they are segregating to an extent in your school. Oh, and by the way is your school a public or a private one? Also, Have fun on School Survival! Biggrin

It's hard to explain. They can't treat you so differently for obvious legal reasons, but they do make you feel like you're not welcome. They let the more popular students off more easily, not as bad a punishment for me doing the same thing. It's a public school, only like 400 students, very small.
