RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

I could get my hands on a skateboard. There are garage sales everywhere, amd i can get stuff for pretty darn cheap. And about the not breaking your wrist thing, might be too late for that becuase when I fell on it there was a huge snap.

A snap sounds like something broke... probably won't fix itself properly, I'd recommend seeing a doctor (or a friggin hospital) about that.

A HOSPITAL??????? Do you know how much those cost? I think I will wait for the swelling to go down, and see if it is broken. If it is out of alignment, I will take a LOT of advil and try to set the bone. I will then try to make a splint (or should I pay up and buy one?).

Still got some cash inflow? You might need it right about now.

You could try getting it looked at. (I'm serious. This is serious.)

It's an injury. My overwhelming answer to this is yes.

At least find someone who will look at it for free. Any retired doctors in your building?

At sxhool there is the nurse, but she is kinda retarded. I do have a neighbor who I can ask to look at it. She used to be a millitary nurse. She is accually nice, she let me occasionally hide from the idiot in her apartment. I think I will head over there now.

Off topic, but my nurse was weird too. Once a kid threw up on my head in kindergarten, I was covered in vomit! She told me to stop crying, because apparently she couldn't understand why a little girl covered in vomit would cry.

As for the nurse in your building, awesome!!!!!!!!! She might be able to help you.

RE: Cheap recipes?

She said it was definatly broken :( grrrrrrr! This sucks! I already have a broken ankle and a ruptured achilles tendon to deal with! And now a broken wrist! She gave me a lot of pain reliefe medicine, and set the bone. (itvwas out of place). It hurt a little, but nit much. She said she understood that I didnt want to pay the $50 to go to a clinic. She still has some of the medical supplies from when she was a nurse, and she gave me a splint for it from her supplies. So I dont need to pay to see anybody! Since she did that for me, I invited her over for dinner and made a gravy and bread with lemon lime soda (generic sprite). She was really happy. Thanks for the recipe alucard483!

Then it's time to force yourself to run around your neighborhood all night while fending off any gangs who try to stop you.

Why would I do that? The only kind of person who would do that would be suicidal and retarded! But the rollerskate is really good, because I can stand on it and I can use my bad leg to push off lightly with and it doesnt hurt too bad. That is good, so I put less wieght on my broken wrist. I have suckey luck, what will happen next. I really hope I wont break the other leg! But the other leg now hurts a decent amount probally because I have to put so much weight on it. And at school 3 of my teachers make me stand up whenever I look as though I am going to fall asleep (eitch is constantly during those classes.) so I have to stand a total of 2 and 1/4 hours during class. Any idea of what I can do about the good leg?'

RE: Cheap recipes?

The teacher grabs the back of my chair, drags me to the front of the room and force me to stand there. This stinks because my other ankle is very weak(thanks to the idiot kicking it) and sometimes gives out and now it hurts. One of the teachers picks me up, carries meupside down to the front of the room and drops me right there and I cant get up for a while. This sucks.
