Actually, it has gotten much better. Most of us don't think our pro-school counterpart students are less intelligent. We just think the ones we talk to that ignore us are hard headed, and the ones who hate school but think it's justified are ignorant. The days of ss members thinking they are superior have long since been stomped out, and even when they were in their prime they were cracked down upon.

Also, being happy is no fun if there's nothing to be happy about.

Righteous fury for a silly reason is also a waste of energy and really pointless! You could be getting mad about child brides and elder abuse and research for chronic illnesses, but instead everyone's just running around in circles and bashing their heads into walls!

Ugh, I don't want to sound angry and unreasonable, and it's really nice to see that this forum has become more reasonable and intellectual as well! 38D There's so many clever people on here, I just wish someone would tell them to fix their personal problems instead of misattributing them to other things!

Welcome to SS, Hope you find the site more inviting. It takes a while to get used to our brand of humor, and philosophy. While we have opposing view points on different issues most of us tend to be pretty cynical in nature. Not necessarily a bad thing, Just takes those who aren't used to it a while to adjust. Honestly this place is a sanctuary. You come home pissed after a day of school which you despise, and your parents are telling you to do better or you'll never succeed, your friends just don't get it, and your teachers yell at you. This is a place where people with the same opinions about school come. A godsend after the 24/7 grind that is school.

The only thing about the controversial opinion thread is that a few of the opinions seem to be kind of malignant, but the perpetrator is just a bit ignorant about the topic and is formulating them based on incomplete information! So the little SJ-fairy-troll fluttered down to their thread with tidbits of wisdom and information and also a lot of fury but that's safely bottled up now.

I wasn't really planning to stay long, but now I'm honor bound to all the threads I barked in. I have forged the chain by my own hands, and the chain is set in steel and stone, locked to a ghost ship that floats and does not sail. I wait until the sea comes to take it back, and the dark waters swell to swallow the hulking tumorous mass. As the stinging waves pour over the impossible ship, I shall sit and wait for the end.
