RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

The Dream Topic

Post Any Weird, unusual, or even normal dreams here.

Anyways, last night, I dreamnt the revolution came with everyone from SS in one place (conveniently). So everyone was like driving off in cars and stuff, but I couldn't get all my supplies so I could'nt come. D:

Then after that, I was before congress and made a big huge speech ending in "Crooks and liars, BURN IN HELL!" and then thunderous appluse. Biggrin
After that I was flying a jet and crashing it into the water on purpose like 5 times in a row. Theni was training in the army in Hawii and met this REALLY cute Asian girl ( I mean, DAMN cute.) and we flirted for like 5 hours then I woke up.

If this topic is about dreams in genral:

I always have a dream that repeats a few times over and over in my life..

It kind of goes like this:

I’m screaming for someone to help me (someone is trying to kill me, or I’m falling of a cliff and hanging there, it changes but has the same general meaning.) there’s a bunch of people there, but they just watch, and never help. Or a lot of the times there was a phone there and I tried to pick it up and the phone diddent work, or the person who said hello never replied after I said I needed help. In the end, well, it cuts of before the end. It usually cuts of when the dude who’s trying to kill me finds me, and then bang I wake up. Or I’m losing grip to the cliff, the last words was screaming out help.

Crazy ness huh?

All the losers and zeros are my personal heroes.

So I was running through this pool of marshmallows with my flip flops on. When all of sudden the manager comes out of nowhere and he starts going "klhaf;ghamlhg;iohasglhafg!" and then there was only 18 seconds left to eject befor the bowliing ally closes and Kirby was ther but he wasnt looking like kirby and it was really freaking me out. I like cake.

Whilst some work diligently there are those who ask why. I am one of them

I had a dream with my girlfriend in it. No sex, just a lot of nice talking. Anyways, it was in this area I seem to visit a lot. Just near my house. But, distorted. Nobody really around. Plus it's peaceful, I don't think there are any real building either. Heh, we were sitting next to a campfire just talking. Then, we walked next to the road, which seemed to be more peaceful as well. Heh, I remember asking myself if it was a dream. It was so good that I didn't want to wake up. But everything was distorted, yet so peaceful.

I had one dream where I had this cute looking wife and I thought my real life was nothing but a dream.
I was 19 and she was 17 and we were living like we were married(don't ask). I was a white guy with blond hair and it was strange.
I worked at some company that makes drugs (drugs are legal now!!!). It was like I went through a day of his life and at the end of the day I was talking to my wife telling her I was dreaming that I was this guy named ****** who was disappointed in his life and how it seemed so real. She told me I might have been a real person somewhere and we were inside eachother Experiencing our lives or something. When we started making out was when I woke up.

At least once a week I dream about music, just music.

Most of the time none of my other senses are there, but occasionally I'll see sheet music.

i had a dream about two nights ago where there was this old house in the suburbs, with a bunch of people having a dinner party inside and one was a cop. then me and a bunch of kids burst inside armed with spears, and i took the cop's gun and we held the people hostage for some vague revolutionary purpose, i can barely remember what. then one kid's like, "Kevin, i think you should see this..." and he points out the window and there's about a dozen SWAT guys sneaking around the building. we all split up to guard different rooms, and so i was just waiting on top of a bunk bed (don't ask) while hearing all this gunfire and screaming. then a SWAT guy looks around the door and i shot a few times, but the gun didn't seem to be working right and no bullets came out. he said that the hostages were freed and all the other kids had been captured or killed and i was the last one, so i might as well surrender. it seemed kind of stupid dying to defend a bed so i did. i dropped the gun and right when i was climbing down i woke up.

that one was weird because it actually made sense. my dreams usually don't.

I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.

That makes two of us. Although even though some of my dreams are normal, they're still fucked up...or something. Confused

one really wierd one though was a few weeks ago. you know how i had that one dream where i was shooting up the school? well i had one where i was on the other side of the line. i was working for the police and another kid was in a school with a gun and me and a few other cops had to take him out. he was standing at the far side of the playground shooting at us, and we had to keep taking cover until i was close enough to hit him.

I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.

here's my three recurring dreams:

i'm stuck in a zombie outbreak (apocalypse type stuff), but i've never gotten bit once Biggrin

i can breathe underwater. these are pretty vivid and make me wonder if i could really breathe while i'm swimming at the pool.

and lately i've been having these dreams where i get chased by something and then i end up running away on all fours, much more quickly than i ever could on two legs.

so in short, i have some weird dreams lol

heres one i had 3 years ago
it started with me held up in a bunker on the west side of an unnamed giant city (about 100 miles to the other side)
keep in mind that this is a post apocoliptic city filled with zombies, mutants, and even a few energy based beingsb (who caused it)
well i get a transmission on my radio about a colony of survivors about 200 miles out of the city limits
that leaves me to find enough food and water get transport and large stores of fuel all while fight off those monsters including this 1 energy being that was following me and trying to kill me every chance it got
long and extremly vivid dream
i remember being able to hear the cracking of rubble and the splintering of wood
the smell of burnt flesh
and the pain of smoke inhalation

that dream sucked

I wish my dreams were that detailed, my dreams are always just a vague blur of random weirdness.

Sex dreams are good, I just wish that I had more detailed dreams, I'm sure that detailed dreams would come in handy during sex dreams.

Wolf on Mescaline Wrote:Dreams are blurry because during heavy REM sleep, your brain releases N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT).

DMT is produced in your Pineal Gland, the same gland that produces melatonin (another chemical used in sleep). Similar to smoking DMT, your memory of dreams is very vague because of the outlandish effects of DMT on the brain. In other words, DMT produces such profound situations for you that your brain actually tries to block it out due to the reality-defying nature of dreams.

This same chemical is released after death. Which, I believe, to be the chemical responsible for NDEs (Near Death Experiences), and the visual aspects of "passing on." For example, people who have "died" and then "came back" due to medical procedures or whatever, often describe a spiritual experience, like seeing a tunnel of light, or meeting divine beings. This, I think, is produced by the DMT in your brain.

However, when taking this into consideration, people seem to automatically think of these experiences, when put into this light, as simple hallucinations, having no real meaning. This is a mistake. These experiences have huge amounts of meaning, just like dreams do, although I'm not sure what this meaning is. Razz
Quite informing, I never knew that before.

I had a weird dream last night.

Me and some other people were walking down this road, and there were these small black critters following us. They looked a bit like cats, except they weren't. We were trying to get rid of them. We followed them back to a cave, and stayed over the night to spy on them. Some spaceship lands and people get out to check on the critters. We find out that the critters are spies from another planet, sent here to gather info to help them take over or something.

We do some research and find out that the main bad guy is the leader of some planet far away (Jupiter?)... so we get in our huge spaceship and take off to go there. Somehow our ship can teleport, so we teleport straight there. We look for parking near the planet, because we don't want to get too close. We go south of the planet (yes, south... in space. yeah.), and we find these waterfalls and islands there (also in space). There are people living on them. The females and males are on seperate islands for some reason. I walk around on the islands and talk to the people. Most of them ignore me. I find this one guy I recognize on the one island, but he supposedly doesn't know me (he's a clone or something)... then that island starts being flooded, so we run for higher ground. From there, I can see the main planet clearly. It's a planet, but there's a giant person attached to it... like, a person's upper body, with the planet as his lower half. He's the main bad dude we came to stop. He treats all his people badly or something, or doesn't allow them on the main planet, which is why they're on the islands. I can't remember. So anyway, somehow the one eyed chick from Futurama floats past in space and kicks the guy off the planet, and then she merges with it. She rules the place better, so we call it "mission accomplished" and go back home.

Once we get back, we get a message saying that the Futurama chick's been banished from the planet, and there's a new guy ruling. He's some gangsta guy and makes all the people dress in basketball clothes and recite retarded gangsta lines all day long. So we go back again. I go undercover, pretend to act gangsta too, then the other guys (still on the ship or somewhere else, but not on the planet with me), they fly a little remote controlled plane back and forth through the windows of the building I'm standing in, near the main bad guy... and he's quite amused by the plane, keeps staring at it. Eventually the plane stops in front of his face and shoots him with a shrinking beam... which makes him tiny and then it captures him in a little jar. I think they might have squished him too, but I can't remember.

So then I and some others run around the planet telling everyone they can stop acting gangsta and that it's all over and stuff (many of them were mentally scarred by this point). Then we get the dude that I recognized earlier to take over the planet, because we know he'll be a good ruler. Then we plant farmlands and stuff all over so the people have food. I think we put up some kind of barrier too so no people who "float past" can kick him off the planet. And then I woke up.

my dreams tend not to have a story or any point at all but just a bunch of random events. such as:

a few years ago i had a short dream that i was sitting up in the rafters in my garage and i watched as i killed another version of me with one of those blades farmers use for cropping, the thing is it sorta passed through me but i died anyways? people always try to tell me it has some kind of meaning but i just think it was one of those random things.

when i was about 7 i dreamed i was killed by the waiters in the hotel we stayed at in france.

it seems most my dreams result in me dying Uhoh

I have a lot of nightmares, but lately, I haven't dreamed at all.

I was half asleep in class and dreamed that I was hitting a ball, and everyone was looking at me because I almost knocked my books off my desk. xD

i had one a few nights ago where i was babysitting some kids in this creepy dark house, and they all went Lord of the Flies on my ass: taking off their shirts, war paint, bows and arrows. i had a bow too, but i didn't want to shoot them and was trapped in a little alcove in the wall with them on the stairs shooting at me. finally i shot back and hit one, and i think he died and i felt horrible. but at the moment i just wanted to survive. it sounds stupid but it was a really intense dream.
