RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

So I take it that I'm the only Fascist on the forums? The rest of you are anarchist or communist... -_-

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

Minarchism is okay, there needs to be some sort of government IMHO. An anarchist community is not possible unless the whole world goes anarchist, and it would be difficult to achieve - but still possible.

It's funny usually when I tell people I'm a Fascist they go ape shit at me ^^.

We're open minded enough to accept even you.

Also, the thing about anarchism isn't as much making the whole world as making a steady, tight-knit community, preferrably small with only as much people as is enough to function on its own.

Yah, basically on the first day of my polisci class he explained how, according to the basic ideological diagrams, anarchists and fascists are natural enemies. More so than fascists and anything else. Sorry dude, but that's just how it is. See ya on the other side of the barricades. Biggrin

Dear Tumblrites: Despite your wrongly self-diagnosed PTSD, no line of scientific evidence suggests people can be triggered over the internet. Triggering works through the senses (i.e. smell, taste, touch, vision, hearing.) but it goes through real time; if you're not experiencing it in real life as it's ACTUALLY HAPPENING in your ACTUAL life, you CANNOT be triggered. The only exception to this is if you have a seizure, but then again, that's triggered by epilepsy (i.e. rapidly-changing flashing lights) NOT PTSD. Remembering a bad incident is NOT the same thing as having a flashback. When you remember, you think; when you flashback, you feel.

I think he meant minarchy was okay, because there needs to be a small form of government.

Hey, who was it that said that they'd "Rather have a weak government made of thread, than a strong government made of chain"?

That was an epic quote, it's seriously the only thing I remember from 5th grade... oh wait, besides that time I became a feminist, because that bastard said girls shouldn't be presidents, because they'd paint the white house pink. Then I said Boys shouldn't be president because they're stupid. Then I got in trouble... bastard asses.

Buuut, that's something different entirely.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

Unlike the Fascist's of the past, I believe in free speech, so if you are a communist that is fine by me, our view may be totally different and unable to live in harmony, but there is a Greek quote going around, something like "no matter how much we fight with each other or disagree with each other, in the end we'll be best pals." Smile

Now, this stuff about gay, hetero, bisexual and all that crap, my view is there is no such thing. Yes, you heard it right, now let me explain myself...
What happens in the bedroom is of no importance to me, as long as it doesn't hurt my citizens (speaking from a future prime minister's point of view ^_^) or whatever it's fine by me, and plus, a healthy citizen is a happy citizen, so if my people are happy by gay sex pfft go at it.

But I'm anti-abortion because I believe whether or not you want to take care of the child, you took the risk, and also in a Fascist nation, another citizen is another soldier!

Good luck feeding them all, and requiring them to live a lousy life having hundreds of thousands of them on your conscience. You're probably anti-suicide as well. I'll so make sure you don't get elected no matter where you start.

Re: What are some of your most controversial opinions?

Life is not lousy unless you make it that way, because life is what you make of it. The meaning of life is whatever you make it be, so if you want to commit suicide you haven't yet made yourself a purpose. Suicide is the selfish way out (for most) since you're the on hurting all those people that loved you.

Honestly, if someone's at the point of suicide, people probably don't care that much anyway.

And selfish way out? Really? Everyone has the right to their own body.

I mean, I'd rather someone not kill themselves, but people do have that right. It's really sad to think that if we could punish suicide victims, we would.

I generally have mixed views with drugs. Firstly, tobacco (cigarretes) should be ILLEGALL. Other psychodelic, mood enhancing or recreational drugs should be legal under strict moderation.

As for tobacco, I agree as it's a habit for the habit itself. Others not necessarily as it does have an effect, besides making something illegal is only making more money for those who produce it.

Weed is illegal in most countries. It is certainly still available in nearly all of them.

Illegal things still happen, and, in general, laws don't change behaviour in a straight-forward way.
