How to make money from your website

And the best way to do this is to hype everyone up, pretend you have something that no one else has, and then give everyone a big let down. You know, like on Youtube, where you can use thumbnails of pictures that aren't even in your video, and then millions of people watchyour video after that ad, and then you make a heck of a load of money. That's the best and most legal way to make money.

Yes, that's how many people on YouTube became famous, they just claimed they had a sex tape or a porn video of famous stars, then they put one explicit thumbnail to somehow trick people. and then people end up buying into it.

Or how about Kony? The War propoganda documentary put on YouTube? The guy who put up that video had ads for l think almost 90 million views. Imagine how much money that cunt has made? Holy shit.

Hey SoulRiser, can you be more descriptive on how you make money from sites? Almost all sites which talk about making money pretty much only go into that much detail, they're not really specific. So can you be more specific? Like which are the scam sites? Which software to use? What exactly went into making some of these money making sites?

Sent you a PM. But generally people use Wordpress to run the sites, and most of the work involves writing articles. I don't know what the scam sites are, I only ever signed up for one site that teaches people to make money online, and I only signed up for them because I was reading their free articles on their old site for like 3 years and that was actually already working pretty well for me.

There are three ways to make money online

1. Sell a product
2. Sell a service
3. Sell ad space

To do any or all of these three things you will have to somehow build a customer base. Unless people visit your website and are clicking on the ads (and buying
the product. Though that's really more the advertisers problem), or purchasing
the product or service that you sell you won't make any money.

Now in order to get a customer base/audience you will have to advertise

There are two basic ways to do this

1. Low Cost Low Risk Low Reward
2. High Cost High Risk High Reward

In other words the more you put in the more you will get out but also...
The more you could lose. Examples of each would be Word Of Mouth
advertising (for a very basic version the children's 'game' "Psst...Pass It On")
for the first and a superbowl commercial for the second.

Since most probably do not have the budget for high cost/high reward
advertising you will either have to be REALLY persuasive and get
someone to fork over the money which isn't likely to happen
or you need to use a low cost/low reward method.

Now to clarify something. I say low cost low reward but that doesn't
mean you can't reach a wide audience as you would with a high cost
high reward method. The main difference is that high cost high reward
is more "in your face" type advertising while low cost low reward is
more "didja hear about?" type advertising. Billboards are high cost
high reward advertising as they are hard to miss and they get people
to where you want them to be--in your pocket book.

Billboards are cheap so you'll probably have to use more low cost low reward methods. However what you want to strive for is not so much numbers
but customer loyalty. Why? Because you need to build a reputation.
However loyalty must be earned. This may sound crazy but you don't
want to treat a potential customer as well... a potential customer.
Instead treat them as a person and not as a number.
If possible develop relationships albeit strictly professional ones.

If you want people talking you need to give them something to talk about.
A lot will try to resort to "shock value" but I'd advised against it for the
reason that it may backfire. Instead work to create a product or service
(or choose quality advertisers) on a consistent basis and with lasting appeal.

i think as YouTube really got to be part of the mainstrean it has gone the way of facebook. everything is just there to get you to the next ad. they'd get rid of the "everything" if they could

This may be ironic coming from me, but I hope that advertising on the internet dies completely at some point. It just ruins everything. By advertising I mean banners and shit like that, selling stuff is fine, and so is getting commission for helping to sell stuff. But the ads... ugh. I'm honestly surprised that everyone doesn't use some kind of adblock. I was surprised that you could make any money at all from ads back in 2005 when I started, and I'm still surprised now.

Yeah, that's why I find it so weird... do normal people actually like ads? Do they just not know how to install adblock? I don't get why advertising is even still a thing... most people clearly don't think like I do.

In my experience, you're more likely to get malware from ads than from adblock.

uBlock Origin is a good adblocker.
