I can't find any good news sources. - Absnt - 07-02-2011 02:14 PM

I find inconsistencies, a lack of research, straight up lies, and gross exaggerations were I get my news these days. Seems like in order to get accurate news I'll have to get a feed from NASA, the white house, a bunch of analysts opinions, a CIA operative, a translated Russian version of the news among other sources...

Were the fuck do you niggers get accurate news? I usually get mine from google news, but a lot of it is crap. Some of it is alright, but some of it falls apart if you research it any deeper than what you read in the articles...

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - .Manicrose. - 07-02-2011 02:24 PM

I read the Huffington Post most of the time, and of course I pay attention to the comments, getting the public's opinion (although most of them are libs and present only one side of opinions) is always good next to the "impartial" tone of the actual article.

I never watch the TV news unless some really big shitstorm went down and I need to get the general gist. It's all exaggerated like you said.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - The Desert Fox - 07-04-2011 06:03 AM

NPR is possibly the best source of news in my opinion. Why? Because they literally put zero opinion, zero spin one direction or the other in their news. They give you the news without saying any of the opinionated "The democrats blah blah blah" or "the President blah blah blah" or "The Republicans blocked a bill due to unfair blah blah blah" stuff.

Wow, I thought I was the only one.

NPR seems pretty good, actually. I'll have to get used to the semi-cluttered website style though.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - thewake - 07-05-2011 10:22 PM

News? I just watch the news. FOX, CNN, whatever is on. I prefer FOX because I'm a big fan of Stossel, Judge Napolitano, and Greg Gutfeld (Mr. Gutfeld's show is probably the best show on cable news at the moment).

Wow. I'm so average compared to you guys.

The thing with public radio, and television, is that it's controlled by the government. Then again, all the other sources are controlled by huge multinationals in bed with the government. I'm reminded of Plato and his cave...

Goddamnit 4chan, and you're lack of a news board these days.

BBC is owned by the British government, it doesn't even count as news to me.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - Sc00lh8er24 - 07-06-2011 04:05 PM

As usual, more retardation. OOOOH , GOVERNEMTN, TAINTED NEWS<!!!!

You idiots don't have any idea how good BBC is. The British government has truly attempted to bring accurate news that actually affects people instead of the bullshit random murder cases that you see on TV. Not only that, they cover areas across the globe and they focus on interviewing people instead of their own commentary.

Don't pull anti-government world dominatoin conspiracy shit out of your ass

Liberal Bias but good political news source:

Surprisingly Unbiased reporting:

Good unbiased videos:

I listen to NPR in the car, good articles online too.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - Sc00lh8er24 - 07-08-2011 08:32 AM

The map said airstrip 1 in a book.

Furthermore, you have absolutely no logical thinking. If you actually watched and analyzed the news, you would see there's no bias. The government would be severely hit and reprimanded even if there was a slight error.

Private companies, however, have the only goal of increasing their ratings.

Sorry, I have yet to give respect to any of the users on the site

Heard of FOX asshole?

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - Absnt - 07-08-2011 04:15 PM

I guess it's not really all that possible to find actually accurate news sources. It's impossible for reporters to be experts on everything they report on, and most of the time, regardless of news outlet, they emphasise things and exaggerate to get more views.

LulzSec for example... I have the capability of doing most, if not all of the things they did. They weren't really using anything more complicated than javascript injections, botnets and shit like that. Before I discovered that, and when I was reading the news about them, I figured they were all fucking geniuses who had penetrated servers and had breached government databases and shit.

Another example was the whole "High way of death" thing. Most news sources reported "Tens of thousands" and higher died when the allied coalition trapped a convoy and bombed them. Realistically, it was probably more around the lines of 6 to 7 hundred. Almost all of them got the fuck out of their vehicles and escaped into the desert.

I could go on, but you get the point. In order to actually get the REAL news story, you have to wait a few years and extensively research each individual story, and that's just fucking impossible. It'd be nice to have a news source that would do it's research and republish stories on the front page when they get them wrong or whatever, but that never really happens.

For proof that the media isn't very reliable, look at all their reports on stuff anonymous did. The media can definitely be useful, especially if you already know what's going on, but I think the best way to stay up to date is to be up to date with stuff before the media even finds out about it.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - Sc00lh8er24 - 07-09-2011 07:56 AM

Blobthe, the exact point of my post was to show why FOX was biased while BBC was not. Can you read?

The people here claim that bad news sources exagerrate their news to get more ratings, something that BBC doesn't do. The Russian dissenters listened to the BBC when they were hiding. Why? Because it is accurate and presents news in a completely unbiased fashion based on interviewing the actual people involved- just watch any newscast.

Don't give me bullshit about BBC being bad.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - Sc00lh8er24 - 07-09-2011 09:56 AM

It's a bunch of talks. The news source itself does not interfere, it just presents the views as solely the opinion of that guy- presenting opinions in an unbiased and non-interfering way.

If Fox news interviewed rebelnerd, would you call the newscast biased towards anarcho-communism (or whatever shit he believes)

Ever seen "In the loop"?

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - Sc00lh8er24 - 07-09-2011 10:09 AM

That's a satire and the funny thing is that the "breaking news" isn't showing up on the BBC

The young turks on youtube they are a good guide to know why politicians are bad, but they do remark on both sides and are pretty biased and dont fluctuate on opinions.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - flann - 07-20-2011 02:02 PM

BBC World Service was the best I could listen to. It can be pretty boring but I end up knowing more
Hidden stuff:
than school has taught me in a year
. Other than that, I listen to my local news. They aren't that formed on opinions.

I watched CSPAN for 10 seconds flat, and it seems AS BORING AS HELL

However, I recommend tabloids. Accurate as ever.

Re: I can't find any good news sources. - Elfy - 07-20-2011 07:12 PM

I will say BBC is usually pretty reliable and generally not that biased compared to something like fox.
