Google+ - Absnt - 07-03-2011 04:47 AM

Fucking social networking. When will people learn? Corporations are NOT to be trusted with all of your personal information. No, not even google. It's creepy enough that google saves all of your search queries, but now this shit? I don't like it. I don't like facebook, I don't like myspace, and I won't like google+...

People need to realize that these sites are basically just information mining operations to get everyone's information to trade, and sell it around to different advertising corporations and governments. I mean, for fucks sake people, why do you need to tell everyone your daily schedule? What you like, and don't like, what you look like and all of that bullshit? Use some goddamn class and keep some things a secret.

Re: Google+ - thewake - 07-06-2011 03:50 AM

I don't care if corporations know that I like A over B, or even that they advertise to me based on that.

On topic: Google+ is shaping up to look really neat.

I fucking do. I fucking hate advertisements. If I need something, I'll buy it. And no, I don't want your goddamn slap chop. And I don't need to accidentally join a goddamn social networking site, either.

Use a different email service?
Don't use Google?

I don't care if Google has my Gmail stuff. The price I pay for free email.

Re: Google+ - Absnt - 07-06-2011 04:58 AM

I encrypt my sensitive shit, but still. Why is that necessary? And every time I search porn, they're like, OH COOL, LET'S KEEP HIS SEARCH QUARRIES FOREVER.

Re: Google+ - Elfy - 07-06-2011 05:03 AM

Though, I expect porn is searched very much.

Anonymous search engines are cool.

Why is it that I can't get on that site? It says something about the domain or some shit.

https://www.ixquick.com
I've heard Google Chrome also sends some personal information to Google... dunno about Chromium.

Lol, I'm using Chrome right now.

Also, ixquick, if I'm not mistaken, was the search engine Glenn Beck wanted everyone to use instead of Google.

Edit:

I made a thread about ixquick a while ago, lol. It's pretty cool. I'm using it instead of google these days. I'm too used to google, though... I like their search commands and what not. It's a damn shame they are so keen on recording your I.P, your quarries, the time you were on, and all of that shit. They should really only do that if someone signs up for a google account and opts-in...

probably trying to provide quality products that will sell the best.
BUT THEN IT COULD BE A CONSPIRACY TO SLOWLY BRAINWASH US ALL TO BE MINDLESS WORKFORCE SLAVES WITH OUR NEW GOOGLE PRODUCTS THAT WILL EVENTUALLY GET US INTO A WAR WITH THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE WORLD THAT WILL END IN A NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST THAT NEARLY WIPES US ALL OUT, EXCEPT SKYNE-I MEAN GOOGLE THEN THE MACHINES WILL TAKE OVER.

Re: Google+ - Blobthe15 - 07-06-2011 11:29 AM

already switched to ixquick whatever

Re: Google+ - Efs - 07-06-2011 12:53 PM

You can use ixquick, but I find the searches much slower. Google has a better service BUT I HATE the fact that they record IP addresses.
Use Ghostery plus NoScript for extra privacy protection, it won't help much though in concealing your identity. If you want, use a VPN network, preferably an offshore one based in Ukraine, Russia or Sweden etc. Use the Tor network as well. Just make sure you don't log in to stuff like bank accounts on these networks as they have a possibility of one of the nodes peaking in.

When I was younger, I made a mistake on the internet, I put my full name on the internet and did all this stupid stuff. But now the information is gone since this was years ago, but still archived.

You're not as anonymous as you think. Every website you go to has been tracked. This is not some conspiracy theory, it's FACT. Everything you go on to has been tracked on the internet. Your ISP can see everything. Facebook can see all your messages and your password. Hotmail/Gmail etc can read all your emails. These internet sites know everything.

My plan in the future is to create a small ISP or a VPN network that DOES NOT RECORD ANY IP ADDRESSES. Of course I can't do this alone!

Good luck either paying premium prices to use existing cables or pay premium prices to lay the cable

As do I. But, look at AOL. They accidentally released thousands of people's search quarries over the course of quite a long time. What if that happened to google? It'd be fucking embarrassing. That, and what if the government did get access to all of our searches, emails and other shit? I, for one, have a rather incriminating set of searches I use to get to certain information. I'd rather them just anonymize our shit from the get go and let the people who want better search quarries opt-in for it.
