Enough is Enough on Internet Censorship - HSHARK - 08-13-2016 10:57 AM

Alright, the school censorship on Internet has gotten out of hand. Schools think that they have the RIGHT to censor any website they want regardless of the content. Even some of my teachers complain that my school blocked educational sites for no reason. I will be building my own proxy server this weekend and be issuing the address to people in the resistance. Because ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and I shall not be silent to the injustice around me.

PS. Even if I get caught, I would at most be suspended for a few days and my proxy becomes blocked. I would not be arrested because I am not violating any relevant law in the US. Even in the event that my site is blocked I can distribute my code to other interested people.

They do. Their network, their rules.

That said, if they aren't smart enough to prevent workarounds, then it's their own damn fault if their censorship tactics don't work. Good luck.

I don't care that it's their rules. I think they should consider the OPINION of the students and staff before action.

I usually just use a proxy add-on for google chrome, works fine

Enough is Enough on Internet Censorship - the Analogist - 08-13-2016 01:18 PM

Are you aware of the fact that presidential debates are hosted by a private company which pretty much agrees to bar third party candidates? the networks have a kind of unwritten agreement that this company doing the hosting is the only forum they will broadcast. If any other rival company wished to host a debate the republicans and democrats could simply choose not to go and the networks could choose not to air it.

What freedom were you talking about again?

I have taken the school survival pledge and I am ready to fight the injustices around me. The road will be long and rough but I will overcome it.

You should read my post on vanquishing popular kids. I even won arguments with them and got respect.

Where's that

Oh yes, I forgot that morality is synonymous with the law.

Well, you know what they say: possession's nine tenths of it.

One good way at defeating popular kids was drawing attention towards yourself. Don't do something that makes you look like an obvious attention whore, but don't just stand there and do nothing, either. Do something magnificent that'll draw attention to you, positive or negative, and you'll have your own reputation. Remember to protect this, too. The best way to do this is to do something similar to a spectacle - something that keeps everyone in awe because it is so mysterious.

Communicating with popular kids is another can of worms but it can be done is through communication; learn their methods of communicating. It used to be that you had to stalk but with the advent of social media, it's so much easier these days to learn how these people communicate. Think like a diplomat; speak to them. Using a generic one-size-fits-all voice isn't too effective. But speaking to their level, that gets them.

Remember to keep a good relationship with the teacher - this got me out of big trouble during my senior year; don't be extravagant, but show your passion and knowledge. By doing this, you'll find it much easier to get away with shit.

But the most two most important things: be bold, but be yoursef. Don't just fantasize about how things could be. Instead, plan ahead and put it in action. The world is full of brilliant thinkers who never act on their great ideas; don't be that sad nerd who spends his outside life just playing video games and jerking to porn all day; think boldly. And the most important thing that you get told: be yourself. Don't try to directly copy other styles, keep your own swagger. Improve upon it, but keep your distinctness. No one likes an imitator or another bland conformist.

That's as far as I can go. I found this useful in dismantling this one particular person. Go out with a bang.

I have a neutral relationship with the "cool" kids

It's a shame. It's like schools don't respect the Constitution that they're supposed to teach us about.

Enough is Enough on Internet Censorship - DreamRebel - 08-16-2016 04:51 PM

The real rules, the rules of simple cause and effect, of merit and damage, are relevant no matter what the written law is. Tyranny and counterproductivity have no place that they haven't swindled. If it exists and chiefly causes damage for no good reason, then it only stole a spot from something good. It doesn't truly belong, and it doesn't deserve power, and it doesn't deserve protection.

Does this mean schools also ban gay marriages? I demand a lawsuit!

You don't have it too bad. I remember one school whose staff would say "Alright you can use this one site" and the rest of the internet was blocked. Of course its still bad mind you but, at least you have some sites. Sorry, for saying that.

There is a very good IOS app called open door that acts as a proxy browser

Today at school, I was using a workaround for GoGuardian, my school's Chromebook monitoring software. So, the tech guy (A big black dude) found out about this, and he didn't suspend me. Laugh at least[/Hidden] i'm not suspended.
