Is anybody planning on watching the debate tonight? I'm making a drinking game out of it. Every time Trump says Mexico, I'm taking a shot.

I'll probably just give it a miss and wait to see a Ben Carson highlight reel.

I'm voting for trump. Fucking love the guy. The only one up there that cares about people, and isn't owned by someone else.

You mean the guy who proudly mentions how he took advantage of every loophole because there was a loophole?

I doubt Trump is the populist folk make him out to be. This dude's lived a life of fucking people over for money. I doubt he personally gives a shit about the commoners.

BTW rich people are making us stuupid. We keep getting told about how we shouldn't fund welfare queens and shit and all the poor rednecks are like "ma monies aint feedin yo black kids".

Then in reality, there are about 10k people living in NY public housing making significant amount of money yet having their rent so subsidized by taxpayers, they're practically living for free despite raking in good dough. All because there's no real law setting a maximum, and while there is authority to remove them the authority doesn't want to(because rich people beat poor folk).

This country is full of dumbasses. The wealthy have us hounding each other while they stand on their towers having a pissing match with the guy across them. We're all serving as their pawns.

If Donald Trump wins, I'm certainly never visiting the States ever again. I'm going to have to get my remaining relatives to move to Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Yes, it is, but what makes you think Trump is the man to do it?

Of course.

Trump would be a fucking idiot as a president. He should stick to real estate.

Donald Duck is so much better than Donald Trump, by the way.

RE: Republican lie marathon tonight - Sunbourn - 09-23-2015 08:01 AM

I'm actually voting for Trump in the primary because I don't think he'd be able to defeat any of the potential democratic nominees. He has a large chunk of the republican base, who seem to be latching on to him no matter how outrageous his statements are, but can he get a large enough percentage of moderates to get the presidential nomination? I really doubt it.

RE: Republican lie marathon tonight - brainiac3397 - 09-23-2015 09:13 AM

For a loud-mouth, he gets pretty whiny when Fox doesnt show his polls or people dig into his "facts". He tried to sue an attack ad because it made him look bad.

Perfect traits for a president.

If Trump is elected president, what would you all plan to do?

Probably nothing. If he somehow becomes president but fails to get along with Congress(and if he continues acting the way he does, I'm not sure he'll have much support from Congress), he'll be the longest serving lame duck in office.

I've been thinking about moving to Norway. That would just jumpstart it.

RE: Republican lie marathon tonight - brainiac3397 - 09-25-2015 03:23 PM

I honestly dont believe theres a better country in general than the US. Might be biased, but no other country was built by pioneers and outcasts seeking liberty. The traditions of the US revolve around a more contemporary history only 2 centuries and some decades ago with hardworking laborers, "exiled" religious minorities, adventerous pioneers, and opportunistic businessmen.

Seeing as I personally identify with these traditions and accept them as my primary culture, obviously Im disinclined to abandon the US even as a dual citizen who has an ancestral attachment to his country of origin. The memory will remain, but I doubt Id ever integrate. So less likely for me to integrate elsewhere.

The same thing could be said about Australia, Canada, parts of Latin America, and New Zealand.

RE: Republican lie marathon tonight - Ky - 09-28-2015 03:57 AM

No, it couldn't. Sure, the historical context is similar, but the big difference is that none of them have incorporated liberty and sovereignty into their very cultural identity the way the USA has.

Which makes the vitriolic relationship between the governed and the governors here all the more awkward.

At least the countries that I mentioned earlier leave other countries alone militarily.

Could be because the USA is doing it for them. Has it occured to anyone that maybe the reason many "Western" powers don't often get directly involved is because they want the US to take control of the main operation, and they just tag along in a "joint" agreement?

I mean it's pretty amusing that the 2nd largest contributor to NATO is Turkey...not the UK or France or even the mighty German republic.

Technically speaking, the defense spending of America allows many of these European powers to fund their welfare programs by defunding much of their military since the US will "take care of it".

An interesting hypothesis indeed.

Maybe we could help my friend overthrow Australia's government if Donald Trump wins.
