The SS firearms thread. - Missile - 05-26-2015 04:23 AM

I've seeing a couple of firearm threads pop up recently in other threads. So I decided to make a thread dedicated to these things that spit metal really fast.

Want to show to show off your custom-made AR or Zastava M-70? Want to get a gun but don't know where to start? Want to start a flame war over gun control or start a flame war over if the 9mm or the .45 ACP is a better cartridge? Come from a foreign country and you want to bitch about how American gun laws "aren't strict enough" or how you wish that you could actually own a firearm in your country? This is the thread for that.

I currently have a 1943 Mosin, a Remington 870, a Ruger .357 mag, a Marlin .30-.30 and I plan on getting a SKS, a AR-10, a Colt 1911, and some Russian or Serbian model of an AKM in the future.

good idea

gun control in some states/districts is waaay too fucking strict (like California, Colorado, Illinois (particularly Chicago), Jersey, New York, Connecticut, D.C., etc) and some places wanted to be even more strict (Illinois, Columbus, OH, and others (for wanting to ban gun stores from being within city limits)

The SS firearms thread. - Missile - 05-26-2015 09:50 AM

Meanwhile here in Texas... we are getting less gun control.

Many of these people who promote gun control have no idea what they're talking about, "We need 2 ban 30 caliber high-capatity clips".

And banning pistol grips? Really?

The SS firearms thread. - brainiac3397 - 05-26-2015 11:50 AM

I thought there was a firearms thread somewhere on here...

And I doubt many of us own guns. I personally still have to go to local PD and fill form for firearm license. Unfortunately, based on other people's experiences, it takes my city pd 4-5 months to process because they only have two officers handling the paperwork, and one of them is actually at the desk working on it(the other is the guy that stands at the counter as front desk person).

Plus getting it into house is another story if I ever bought. My mother freaked when I got a sword. Can imagine her reaction if I bought a rifle(even if it was a simple .22, she'd never really understand the difference between it and a tank cannon).

Realistically, I want to get a Ruger .22(obviously the rifle would be the 10/22). I've always been in love with the Ruger Mk2, most likely because of a unique WW2 stealth pistol with similar visual appearance that caught my attention.

As for home protection or whatever, I'd love to get a lever-action shotgun(which there is basically only 1 ever desgined...the Winchester 1887. There are only a few companies that have actually made replica models with the ability to fire modern rounds. The Chiappa 1887 is one of em:

Considering the huge amount of anarchists here, this forum must be very pro-gun.

RE: The SS firearms thread. - no - 05-28-2015 06:02 AM

I prefer water legs

The SS firearms thread. - Missile - 05-28-2015 06:32 AM

What caliber does your water leg shoot? Did you have to get a license for it?

RE: The SS firearms thread. - craxyguy562 - 05-28-2015 08:17 AM

My parents would never let me buy a gun.

My mom would never let me have a gun in my house. My dad, on the other hand, has more than a few guns. In fact, the 1st thing my dad bought after he and my mom got divorced was a gun (I forget the exact type), but I know it was Russian and a Nagant.

The SS firearms thread. - Missile - 05-28-2015 09:32 AM

Did it have a long barrel? or was it a short barrel with a attached bayonet?

John Browning gave his lever shotguns the middle finger after he made the trench gun and the Auto 5.

The auto 5 is said to kick harder than a regular 12 gauge.

Trying to apply for my carrier's license (covers both open and concealed). I want a SIG Sauer P227 (.45 ACP) gunna carry it around on a shoulder holster under one of those specially made jackets to avoid printing.

Its expensive tho (~$1100) even though I can afford it. I got my eye on it but I'll keep my options open.

RE: The SS firearms thread. - brainiac3397 - 05-28-2015 01:24 PM

I wouldnt say middle finger. When Browning suggested making a shotgun, preferably with pump action (which he considered the best design for a shotgun), the Winchester management told him they wanted a lever-action because Winchester was brand known for its lever action weapons. So Browning didnt bitch or half-ass and made it work. Course a few years later, Winchester was like "eyy the 19th century ended lets do something new" and ditched the lever action obsession and let Browning build his pump action.

Samuel Colt may have ushered evoltuion into firearms with multiple shots in a practical design, but Browning basically designed so advanced that we still use basically most of his designs in modern firearms, especially pistols which are literally copies or improvement based on his design. Colt made the revolver, Browning made the future.

Kalashnikov just gave the proletariat a fighting chance with his cheap, reliable, and effective AK design.

Stoner is questionable since Direct Gas Impingement didnt work too well and still possess some disadvantages, though the SR-25 he made later on in life proved to be a reliable and accurate weapon.

ARF is more informative but /k/ is alot funnier.

Have to go with ARF for practical reasons (no h8 m8)

Any recommendations for a cheaper .45 caliber handgun?

considering feminism, all these feminists don't realize that nothing says "don't rape me" more than staring down the barrel of a Glock, a 1911, or a .38 special.

All the ones I've seen were at least $800 bucks.

You better not be referring to the tumblr type, because they're not feminists, they're pseudofeminists, or female supremacists you could call them

ACTUAL feminists wants equality. They want privilege and demean others for it. They're hypocrites and morons.

Point is, not feminists.

It was probably a 91/30

RE: The SS firearms thread. - brainiac3397 - 05-29-2015 11:12 AM

Just went to the range with my sis. The desk lady said I needed to be 21 to sign her cause she was a minor (16) but the manager knew who I was(along with the entire staff thanks to my frequent visits and decent stream of guests) and let me sign anyway.

Nice place. Wish I had more cash to renew my platinum but Ill probably have to get silver till I make enough money to renew. I didnt go often last few months but its a nice friendly place. Great gun choices, and a well-stocked VIP lounge.

i think it's something else, but you may be right. i'll have to ask him tomorrow.
