You know the difference between bits and Bytes right? They use that to trick people as well(the less tech-savy).

They show the speed as Mb, which stands for megabits, rather than MB for megabytes. Course a lot of people who get "high speed" internet don't exactly know this Razz

Slower than 93% of US LOL sucks to be you. You're just a single tier above dial-up internet. I haven't taken one of these speed tests in quite some time so I'll give it a go. I expect about average. We recently downgraded our Cumcast plan to save money, which basically slashed our speed in half.

The fastest my internet downloaded was around 1.2 MB/s, though it averages between 300-700 KB/s.

It's about $30-40 a month. Not only that, but AT&T loves to give you unwarranted fees in your checking account. Look how many people hate AT&T's internet!

And I think they're the only ISP avaliable in our area unless we can afford getting a satellite dish (which is unreliable when it rains).

Oh, and I think there's one reason they're so damn slow. They still provide internet through phone lines, while most others use cable nowadays.

You know, I never knew AT&T provided internet service. I only know of Optimum and Verizon for cable, with Optimum the prevalent service in my area.

Haha, yeah, that's just what they call all their broadband, even if it's bad ADSL on a long loop.
They won't put you on a service tier higher than your loop length and line quality can support, so that might really be the fastest they can give you, depending.
What's it supposed to be? If you're consistently getting under 75% of what you're supposed to they'll want to continue looking into it.
Pity you aren't on Uverse; there's a great line diagnostics tool.
