User account problem - The Desert Fox - 09-17-2012 11:38 PM

Hey everybody, I'm back because I dunno where else to ask this.

So my mom had a power trip and because I was careless enough to leave the computer open to my account, had my sister make me a standard user on the computer, despite me being almost the only person who ever uses it. This means I can't even fucking install Flash updates or play KF, and I really don't feel like taking an entire day to back up all my shit and reformat like last time. Is there a control panel workaround to make myself an admin, so I can actually do stuff on the computer again?

TL;DR version: I'm a standard user on a computer and need to get back to admin without reformatting the computer. How do I do this?

my best guess without using the all mighty google is that you're going to have to use the command prompt, but i'm sure there are people here that are more tech savvy than i

Please give details about computer:

Windows or linux? What version of each?

Here is an idea:
1: Download Ubuntu
2: Put it on 4gb flash drive
3: Back up all files somewhere
4: Install ubuntu either dual boot or single boot
5: Make only your own account and lock out all of your family members and make yourself admin
6: Use ubuntu for most of your shit

Easy!!

Not bad advice, but I prefer windoze. And I'm using vista, if it makes any difference.

ARE YOU SHITTING ME????

Vista is a pile of shit.
Do not use, it is a pile of shit.

Option:

Pirate windows 7 and follow instructions to burn to a CD
Backup data
Put inside of CD drive and reinstall windows
Download the crack from pirate bay that makes windows think your software is genuine.

net user /add useraccountname mypassword

net localgroup administrators useraccountname /add

net share concfg*C:\\/grant:useraccountname,full

Hm, my vista must be glitched up or something, 'cause it's not that at all.

I have been meaning to do this for-fucking-ever though.

"Access denied". I'm guessing you gotta be an admin to do that. Or is there some way to open it up while my computer's booting and do it then?

Motherfucker follow my advice GET UBUNTU WINDOWS SUCKS COCK.

User account problem - SaintVicious - 09-18-2012 05:06 AM

Force open during start up f8

User account problem - SoulRiser - 09-18-2012 05:35 AM

I can totally recommend Windows 7. It's worth the upgrade. Vista annoyed the hell out of me for the few minutes I tried to use it that one time. Razz

Other than that, I have no idea how to hack Vista user accounts. Sorry.

Will try, thanks. Do I need to do all the listed steps or just the second one?

RE: User account problem - Reptorian - 09-18-2012 06:29 AM

Ubuntu or Windows won't matter shit if you don't know how to protect yourself. For those using a linux, try sending me some shit and you ain't gonna get to my computer that easy. I'm using Windows and I'll write a method of how to protect yourself.

RE: User account problem - The Desert Fox - 09-18-2012 06:42 AM

Doesn't work, I hit F8 repeatedly throughout setup, including pausing it at the beginning and going through my startup options, but command prompt refuses to open until I'm logged in, and then I can't change shit. Fucking goddammit

INSTALL LINUX IT'S CALLING TO YOU

Or do my option B:

AKA downloading pirate windows 7 and backing up files and reinstalling it over the whole computer and downloading the crack to get windows to think it's genuine.

It'll take 3 hours and you'll have a more stable version of windows.

Nevermind, a friend gave me a cracking program that I burned to a disc and used to remedy the problem.
