stem cell research - xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-17-2006 01:29 AM

i think that this could actually help our country rele well

everyone knows bout the stem cell research i presume

its where there taking the stem cells out of unborn babies and ambilical cord from when u are born so that if anything happens to u such and gettin paralized , diagnosed with cancer , and any other harmful disease and or mishaps that they can take the stem cells and stick them next to ur and wait a while and the will alll connect together and u will be fine

this is great cuz this can cure cancer and stuff

but the only problem is were also killin unborn babies while doing this and thats even worse

but were tryinn to fidn a way to get the stem cells without killing any one and it takes to long to wait for the cord

does anyone else think this is gewd or is it just me???

- modest mouse - 09-17-2006 02:05 AM

Its impossible to kill something unborn.....

Rephrase that as to saying...Preventing the babies from being born.

There are ways to get stem cells that aren't through abortion. Many parents are choosing to keep their childs cord blood just in case, and we have stem cells in fat, mammary glands, and even in the nose. Yes, the nose. Meaning we don't have to abort fetuses to get stem cells.

- Alucard483 - 09-17-2006 10:12 AM

then why are the hippies PMSing

- WildFire - 09-17-2006 10:17 AM

Why are the hippies pmsing, alucard? Who knows, only the hippies know.

- WildFire - 09-17-2006 10:19 AM

i was going to ask that but i forgot to. lol.

- Alucard483 - 09-17-2006 10:29 AM

why am i generalizing because its easy to do

- Doc Johnson - 09-17-2006 10:36 AM

sure, in general it is.

My people take offense to that.

We'll see you in court.

- Freak - 09-17-2006 12:55 PM

Well you could get hte stem cells from fetuses who's mothers are going to abort anyway.

- WildFire - 09-17-2006 01:06 PM

true true, i think they are doing, that, im not sure.

- xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-17-2006 03:46 PM

if someone dies in ur family cant they take the stem cells out of the dead body and use those to like help the rest of ur family

cuz killing fetuses isnt kewl

- Guest - 09-18-2006 01:23 AM

I guess they could take it from dead family members but they'd have to do it really quickly. It's like organ transplant except with the small amount of stem cells they die off more quickly. There is a 50% chance that a parent and a child have matching stem cells and a 25% chance that two siblings have the same stem cells.

- xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-18-2006 03:09 AM

u dont have to have matching stem cells though thats the beautiful thing bout it

all they have to do is be similar

my great grandma on my grandmas side she can give me stem cells if she died because i have similar ones to her

i can get it with anyone whos blood in my family

- Guest - 09-18-2006 07:34 AM

~!~CRIMSON_SNOWFALL~!~ Wrote:all they have to do is be similar
As I said, it's not a complete certainty that your relatives will be similar enough.

- xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-18-2006 08:13 AM

if u have the same bloodline there gonna be similar

- Guest - 09-18-2006 09:41 AM

Similar but not always enough.

- xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-19-2006 05:48 AM

they only have to have like a .000005 similarity

- Guest - 09-19-2006 06:32 AM

But the chances of that happening are slim.

- xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-20-2006 06:23 AM

but as long as they passed on sum of there DNA (which of course they did) then u could do that

- Guest - 09-20-2006 06:40 AM

You share 50% of your DNA from your parents. But it is a random 50%. So siblings only have 25% same DNA.

Parent: 50%
Children: 50%
Sibling: 25%
Grandparent: 25%

- xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-20-2006 08:11 AM

it dont matter u just have to have like the tiniest percent of similarity and u could donate stem cells when u die or if ur familys members crippled

- Guest - 09-20-2006 08:15 AM

Yes. But tiniest similiarity is not the same as chance. The chances of being close enough aren't the same.

Anyways, we share 60% of DNA with bananas.

- xXThe Damnation ProjectXx - 09-20-2006 08:17 AM

so im related to a bannanna ????????????????????????????????????????
